I'm a blacksmith and I am looking for a pare of gloves that don't melt under the intense heat of my bitimus coal forge would these gloves work for me?

I'm a blacksmith, fire my forge with coal. I routinely work with no gloves at all, that's what tongs are for. These gloves will provide protection from accidental contact with hot metal, sparks when forge welding, sharp edges, etc.

I want to cook with a pan on a campfire, would I get burned if I had on these gloves on and grabbed the pan?

I wouldn't hold it the entire cook time but I've picked up items that were 500-600 degrees without hesitation. They are thick.

Would these provide better heat protection than the leather gloves sold for use with dutch ovens?

I don't know about "Dutch Ovens" ... I am using these gloves for my wood stove. I can put the wood into the stove at 800 degrees and can rearrange the wood etc comfortably.

There is a small tag inside mine - says 100% leather. Made in China
