Great for spotting Vaseline glass
These are perfect for detecting Vaseline or Uranium glass. The output is pretty powerful so you don’t have to be right on top of the object in question to see it fluorese. Yes, the focusing head wobbles a little, but once you get accustomed to that it really isn’t an issue. I thought it was going to eat batteries quickly, but after searching through shops all day recently it is still going strong on the same battery, so I have to revise that thought. Still, it might be a good idea to carry a spare battery for just in case. The only thing I would change would be to make the on-off switch momentary instead of click-on and click-off. Well, and tighten up the focusing head of course.Overall I give this 5 stars. I would buy another if needed without hesitation. And by the way, yes, it does find “pet spots” on the carpet. I don’t know what’s wrong with all the people complaining about that. The room has to be fairly dark, and the spots don’t light up like a big neon sign, but they do show up. Bunch of whiners I guess.
