The Joy Factory SmartSuit iPad mini Ultra-Slim Snap-On Stand/Case with Wake-up/Sleep, Denim Black (CSE104)

It took my a long time to find a case for my iPad Mini because I was determined to find one that was affordable and looked slick enough that it wouldn't look weird. This is a simple case that seems classy and doesn't take away too much from the beautiful design of the iPad.Pros:1. Looks great2. Covers the back for extra protection3. Can prop up the iPad in a couple different ways4. Cleans easily if spilled onCons:1. Can't prop up in portrait mode. I knew this while purchasing and didn't think it mattered. I have found myself wishing on a couple occasions that it was capable of this.2. Flap can get annoying when you're not using it to prop up the iPad. Example: trying to read a book and holding it, the flap tends to move around.3. The flap sometimes can move when transporting the iPad, causing the screen to wake up and waste battery.Overall:I'm happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone that doesn't think the Cons would be a deal breaker. Only 4 stars due to the Cons listed out above.

So, I was debating between a few cases and this one. I was comparing it to the poetic case, and one of the bear brand ones. I looked up some online reviews and found that this case scored among the top cases for the mini. Once I read a bunch of the reviews below, and even watched a YouTube video on it!, I finally settled on this one. I think the case is great, it doesn't add much bulk to the actually iPad itself, and I like the fact that the back is covered. The sleep/wake function works great, but one of the reviews did mention that the magnet isn't great...which is true, but it still does what it is intended to do. It just isn't a strong magnet, like the apple one, which I think is hard to beat. I think the stand could be a bit sturdier, but it works pretty well overall. And I didn't experience that the case was too small for the iPad, it clicked in great. Overall a 4...not a 5, because of the couple things I mentioned above.

This is a very nice little case, it adds very little weight and bulk. The case is sturdy and feels well-built, and protects the ipad when I carry it in my purse or a larger bag. I like the look of the silver fabric with my white ipad, and it adds a nice grippy texture when I hold it. It also doesn't show scratches or dirt after several months of use.The main reason I chose this particular case was the foldable cover with sleep/wake function, otherwise I would have gotten an Apple smart cover and removable sleeve. That has mostly worked, but I'm not entirely happy with it. The sleep/wake function works fine, and the magnet has just enough hold to keep the flag closed in my bag, but the foldable cover doesn't work as a stand quite as nicely as I'd hoped, it's a little unstable and fiddly. But this isn't as annoying with a mini as it would be with a full-sized ipad, since it's so light.

I recently got an iPad mini and I needed a case for it. I have used Apple's smart cover and I liked the way it automatically shut off my iPad 2. It wasn't perfect though; it only covered the front and it became dislodged too. Apple recently introduced a new full coverage case but it was expensive so I started my search.Although a variety of companies produce sleeves for the iPad mini (and I really like Papernomad's offering simply because you can draw on it, doodle, whatever you like) i wanted a cover that automatically shut the iPad off when I closed it and provided full protection. After a bit of research I decided to buy the The Joy Factory SmartSuit iPad mini Ultra-Slim Snap-On Stand/Case. The Joy Factory has a hardshell case that protects the back of your iPad. It comes in a variety of colors. I got bronze because I thought it looked very good and it wasn't overly flashy. My 19 year old daughter took one look at it and thought it looked very snazzy. That wasn't her word and she would probably disown me if she knew I attributed that word to her so don't tell her. The front cover is magnetic so it shuts off the iPad and it stays put. The back of the front cover is a plush felt that keeps the screen well protected. It is foldable similar to Apple's smart cover and permits the mini to stand to aid in watching movies handsfree. The cover is durable and has a slight texture that makes it easy to hold and makes you feel comfortable that it won't accidentally slip out of your hands. All the openings aligned perfectly and the back case snapped securely onto the iPad.If you want a good looking case that you don't see everyday, this is the purchase for you.

I purchased this case for my ipad 2 and I loved it so much that when I bought an ipad mini I knew I'd be buying this case again. I am however extremely disappointed in this case. I purchased one on 12/29/2012 and within 3 months the corner began to crack and then snapped off. I am very gentle with my ipads and they are rarely used outside the home and the case has never been dropped or treated poorly. I ordered the case again on 6/26/13 and within 12 days I'm having the exact same problem. I read tons of glowing reviews on this case and it has not lived up to my expectations at all. I've reached out to the manufacture and I hope they can offer me an amicable solution to this problem. Update 7/16/2013. Spoke with Joy Factory customer service and they are sending me two replacement cases. The process only took about 5 minutes on the phone and a few emails. Great customer service. I will have to see how long the replacement case holds up though.

This cover fits the iPad Mini perfectly. It is lightweight and portable, and the silver and white cover looks great with the white iPad Mini. Cutouts are in the correct locations. The only issue I have had is that after a few months I noticed that the cover is leaving faint smudges on each corner of the face of the white iPad that are difficult to remove. Perhaps this is some kind of interaction with the Zagg screen protector I have on the iPad, don't know if this would have happened otherwise. I hesitate to remove the Zagg screen protector to find out. I still like this cover better than all others I've seen.

I bought this on recommendation from thewirecutter web site.The only thing I didn't like at first is that this case is very plasticy, quite thick and springy material, although I can accept that now; I usually prefer a leather case or cover. It is a fully enclosing case, with cut outs for all the necessary parts (camera, buttons, ports). The cover flap operate the switch magnets, and folds back just like the Apple smart cover to act as a stand.As with any case, it will obscure a back engraving, if you have one.

This is probably the best case out there, as the Wirecutter.com says so, but after almost a year of use and having never taken my iPad from it, I can't help but feeling next time I will prefer something that is a little softer to the touch. Whilst this is nicely textured, it doesn't make it 'grippy', and is mildly abrasive on the skin. I compare it to that of one of the textured dashboards you get in cars.

Great buy. Didn't like the Apple Smart Cover as it would give no protection to the back, whereas the hard case back to the SmartSuit is perfect. Very secure and all cut-outs precise for speakers/connectors/buttons/camera. Don't believe any reviews that say the magnetic sleep/wake function doesn't work- it's flawless. 2 position prop fine for viewing or typing. Easy to fold & very stable straight out of the box. Feels very solid & well-made too, but maintains the slim profile of the mini perfectly. Looks like it cost twice what it did- you won't be disappointed!

It IS slim-fitting, but protects corners and the screen well. The materials and colours are subtle and muted. The cover does not scream out the name of the item it is protecting. I really like it.

Although this is a good case, I was disappointed. The pictures looked really good, and I'm sure for many it meets their needs.But for me, firstly the colour wasn't very nice. Quite feminine, which is a shame as I wanted a nice white case for my white ipad mini.The stand mechanism is quite weak too.I returned it.
