7 year old enjoys it a lot!
This Kit is an excellent gift for curious kids, offering a perfect blend of fun and learning. My 7-year-old nephew had a blast assembling the kit, and it kept him engaged for hours. Although recommended for ages 8-13, he managed to follow along with some guidance, which made it a rewarding experience for both of us. The instructions are clear, and the pieces fit together well, making it accessible even for younger children with a bit of help. This STEM toy goes beyond entertainment, providing valuable educational benefits. It encourages problem-solving, fine motor skills, and an understanding of basic engineering concepts. The ability to switch between different robot designs and control them with a remote adds to the excitement and keeps the fun going long after the build is complete. It’s a great way to foster a love for STEM subjects while also having a great time. Overall, a fantastic choice for young builders and a great tool for developmental growth.

Great value for the money and lots of fun, but the track can be delicate and needs more spare parts
My boys (7 & 9) both really enjoyed putting this RC Track kit together. The battery connection was a little loose in both kits and so neither charged initially. After troubleshooting, we took apart the battery compartment and pushed on the battery connector and that worked. I suggest you make sure the battery and controller function well before putting the car together. The cars are pretty durable for the cost and the fact that they are in 300 pieces. After a couple days of use, the tracks have become loose and don't want to stay connected to each other. It would be great to have more spare tracks (at this rate, probably a whole additional set) included in the kit as the toy will not work without secure links between the 37 track pieces. Both kits have experienced this issue with the tracks. If the tracks were able to be made more durable, this kit would deserve 6 stars! All in all, though, for the cost and the prompt and kind customer service, this is a great RC toy!

Arrived in time for Christmas and great fun!
My 8-year-old son started putting this together, but it got too complicated for him, so I (Mom) was asked to finish it. It has been put together as the first and last vehicle and has provided lots of fun for us all. It is durable enough for regular play, but the tracks come off when the vehicle falls off of a table, for example. Of course, but my son had to try it anyway. Easy to fix, though. I used my sewing measuring board as a ramp course and put different objects underneath for different heights, etc. Then I put a bath towel over it for traction. It doesn't run on anything smooth at an angle. Overall, it's been great entertainment and fun for me putting it together for my boy!

Modified it into a FPV crawlspace camera
This is a fun little toy for general building but as others have said you are most likely to be missing a few pieces so it would be risky to give as a gift if the person receiving wanted to build the exact model.I bought it to use as a mobile platform for a spare reversing camera I had so I could inspect crawlspaces.Pros:- Builds well- Holds together well- Motors are reasonable - was able to haul a couple of pounds of weight under test- Runs over rough ground. Basically the motors have enough torque to get over small obstacles - anything 3 inches or less in heightCons:- was missing a few pieces from the original design build (such as a fourth headlight brick)- charger cable does not show the battery charged - basically the light is supposed to turn off but it does not- RC controls limited - works like a single channel transmitter in that you are either going forward or turning but not both. You don't actually control each individual track which was disappointing. Both tracks always run when you press a button.- RC range is limited. The remote transmitter does not have an actual antenna, just a fake piece of plastic. Antenna is built into the circuit board of the transmitter and the whole setup loses signal easily within 20-30 feet if it passes behind any obstacle.- Track traction is limited so most of the time the tracks will not grip. You either need to buy the little plastic inserts or make your own traction enhancement. For my conversion to crawlspace camera I had to make the tank wider, throw more weight at the back to make it more stable and include anti roll arms at the back so it would not flip on its back. There was enough pieces in the kit to do this. The pictures I included with the review show both motors side by side. I ditched the RC setup and went with a tethered wire control (75 feet of 22awg wire) that supplies power direct to the motors using momentary switches (installed in an old altoids candy tin) to control each track individually. To increase traction in loose earth crawl spaces, I insert 4 short 1 inch screws into the holes of the tank treads on each side of the tank and secure them with a nut (my original attempt with sticky foam pads did not produce enough traction). I run the whole setup (tank/camera/monitor) off of a portable 12v battery. The length of the 22awg power wire reduces the voltage enough that the motors don't burn out quickly. As to how long the conversion will last (fall apart or motor burn out), I cannot say but I have used it a few times now and it helps me to understand what I would like in my next setup for not a lot of money. Lots of fun to drive in first person view.I recommend buying because of the adaptability of the platform.

A great toy for older kids who can follow print directions for building!!
The media could not be loaded. My 12 year old grandson loved legos but was ready for something different. He put this together in about an hour and has had loads of fun…especially with his dog chasing it!!

Taking apart
I thought this technic lego set was interesting and hoped my child would build the robot, because he had already built a tank from another set. No, he chose the bigger tank. Upon taking it apart, I broke some of the pieces. Now I'm having trouble finding replacement parts because it's a Wise Lego brand and parts can't be bought on Lego.com. Looks like once this is put together, it's not meant to be taken apart again. Next time I'll be careful on which one I purchase. Giving it 3 stars because of how difficult it is to take apart and find replacement pieces.
