Does this unit sleep after time? Then I am guessing since this does not have auto on/off I would need to turn it on and off each day?

It does have auto shutdown if you go away from it after about 15 mins then it needs to be switched off and back on. During that time no battery time is wasted. I left it on over the weekend and didn't need to charge for over a week. This is a great item

What is the battery life like for this product?

This is one item that does not disappoint.. It even has a low power audio warning. I usually charge once a month and use daily. Commute is about 20 minutes each way, and another hour daily driving. One of it's best features. Best part, it uses the same charger as most phones, so if you have a car charger, you are set.

Doesn't seem to be holding charge (and I do turn it off when not in use). Also, playing music thru the FM feature worked twice - now when I press on the FM button, it turns the whole unit off. Do I need to reset using the pin hole I see on the side?

I charge my unit on weekends, put it back in the car Monday morning and have had no problems going all week. I do turn it off and on as necessary--and probably average 8-10 hrs phone time a week. Never use the FM function.....

Is it good for truckers?

I don't know why not. The volume is good.
