Looks good
Here are my initial thoughts having just received it today - have not used. I have two typical nylon sports packs I use to carry computer, electronics, and basic clothing when I travel. This pack is roughly the same size as the old ones. My goal is to be able to use it as described when traveling, but upon reaching my warm weather beach destinations, ditch the travel related contents instead for beer and ice. As other reviewers have noted, I agree with the notion of sticking with cans to avoid puncturing the non-removable liner with sharp bottle cap edge. Essentially, the inside of the bag is a molded no-sew-seam nylon bag. It is very thin feeling, so I caution against anything sharp - including typical refrigerator ice cubes with sharp edges that I believe could easily puncture the liner. The front outer "dry" pocket is ample to hold an iPad mini, wallet, iPhone, etc, but not big enough for an IPad Air 2.The two side mesh pockets are good for bottles or other items that you don't mind being visible. There's elastic cord at the top of the bag which could be ideal to secure a light jacket when traveling, or a beach towel.I also have another packpack cooler, which is "industrial" but isn't practical to carry as on board luggage - so this cooler is all that I expected - meaning, if I wanted larger and leak proof, I already have it, but if I want light weight, and I fear that will, eventually, come with a leak here or there. Ice packs instead of ice cubes may be a requirement to avoid that problem.I plan to bring some extra typical kitchen trash bags to that after being wet, and for the return flight home, I can use a trash bag as a dry-liner to ensure my computer, clothes, etc don't wick up any water.

Excellent insulation, very good quality, lightweight for road/beach trips
Hats off to this product! I ordered this backpack as a replacement to our heavy but compact plastic cooler that couldn't keep drinks cold for even 6-7 hours despite packing a lot of ice (packs).Where we used it: Two 12 hour road trips, multiple half day trips to the beach. How we packed it: Placed cold drinks (1 1/2 liter juice bottle, 5 soda cans, multiple water bottles, with 1 bottle each on the sides, 1 sandwich box, a snack box). Packed all this with a few squares of flexi freeze ice sheets (from amazon). How it performed:After the road trip - Just amazing. Everything fit comfortably and most drinks were FREEZING cold for at least 4 hours, then cooled down to refrigerator temps for the next 4-5 hours. By the time we unpacked at the end of our road trip, some of the ice packs were still intact without melting, a couple of bottles were ice cold.At the beach - Again, just amazing. We carried just one more tiny lunch bag for snacks that did not need refrigeration but this backpack was just beautiful for that beach day. It kept everything super cool throughout the 4 hours we spent on the beach, beer was extra chilled. As long as you ensure to keep it zipped up as soon as you take out what you need, the insulation is perfect for even a 6 hour trip in hot sun. Also, we used the outer pockets to store our cell phones and other accessories (in zip lock bags to be doubly safe). We were very impressed with it's performance after our road and beach trips. Definitely a quality product.

Good cooler, OK quality
Purchased this to replace a separate cooler I used in my backpack. Item was lost in the mail & never received, went to repurchase and the price went up $12, which was double what we paid. So this review is on the product, since my friend received the one he ordered, we borrowed it & could test it out.Very lightweight but durable material, inside & out. Material also dries easy if it becomes wet. Been using this for a few weekends, for hiking & biking, and it seems to work good for both.Only problem we have is the cooler part is coming apart at the top; my friend thinks he can fix it by sewing it by hand, but is worried it will happen again. This does work as it should but maybe could have heavier stitching to keep this from happening after a short usage period of 1-2 months.Pros:Keeps items cold all day, with ice pack& Lightweight, but durableCons:Top of the cooler is coming apartOverall, we all like this cooler backpack and would recommend it to anyone looking for cooler inside a backpack...but we can only do this at the cheaper price we originally paid, or if they fix this defect with better stitching.Thank you for you time & interest in our review; Greg, Tina & Family

This cooler is GREAT...why spend hundreds of dollars?
I've been looking for a good backpack cooler for a while and have bought numerous over the last few year. Finally found this one and all I can say is WOW!!! Bought this just before annual golf trip to Myrtle Beach and boy was I glad I did. The temps weren't unbearable but Day 1 easily reached the upper 80's. Put 3 freezer packs in this cooler along with a mixture of water, gatorade, and beer. Pulled out a beer at the end of the round and was extremely pleased to find that it was still COLD! Used it for 3 days following when the temps weren't quite as hot but still warm and had the same results.I've read that bottles will puncture the interior liner. While that may be true, I'm not too worried because...1. the cooler is $20 and easily replaceable and 2. I plan to use freezer packs so I'm not worried about leakage.Worked so well that one of my buddies (doesn't shop online) asked me buy one for him.UPDATE...Still extremely satisfied with this cooler. Took it to the beach for a week where heat index was over 100 almost daily. Filled cooler with waters, gatorades, capri suns, and topped off with freezer packs. At the end of the day, the drinks were still pleasantly cool. Again, I only use freezer packs so I can't comment on how it holds ice.
