Great Laptop For The Price
I had a six year old laptop that died. After researching on amazon and other sites the price and features of this laptop matched what I needed. I will tell you why I like it' It has a dvd/cd drive built in. I have a lot of cds that I have bought over the years and I upload them to my amazon library. Most laptops I looked atdid not, I would have had to buy one. I also had software I purchased that came on cd's.It has the intel I7 cpu which I believe is the latest As of the date I purchased this..A one terrabyte hard drive. Plenty of space for my needs.Windows 8.1 operating system. My old laptop ran windows vista. From what I have read it seems window 7 and 8 have some problems ( they may have been fixed ) windows 8.1 seemed to be stable and has been for me.I have not had any software or hardware problems from day one. While shopping for a new laptop there were some reviews where people said they had too much software pre-installed. The opposite is true for me. With the operating system, a partition that contains a recovery file and the pre-installed software the hard drive came with 850 GB available. I found most of the software uaseful.Overall a great purchase.

Piece of crap died on me twice. I give up.
Lenovo used to be such a reliable brand, but I'm off it for good.Bought this thing in December 2015; it ran like a dream for this multitasker's needs. Then in February 2016, it gave me a blue screen and "Please insert recovery disk" dialogue. When I took it in to MicroCenter - the only licensed Lenovo provider in my area - they diagnosed it with a bum hard drive. As it was in warranty, it was replaced for free. My only complaints about it were that the keyboard was a little wonky - too may double letters being typed on the keyboard, and the auto-brightness drove me FREAKING CRAZY - but some Googling and I was able to mostly fix both issues. The speed and multitasking abilities, however, were not the same after the hardware replacement - though the paperwork showed everything replaced was factory-new and no changes (e.g. still had same size hard drive), it was slow and ate up the battery very quickly, whereas when it was brand-new, it seemed to take 2-3 days of 2-3 hours per day of use for the battery to drive. Now, it was maybe 45 minutes before I got a low battery warning. Then, on January 4th, it died again. Out of warranty, of course. I didn't even want to bother with wasting God knows how much money trying to get this thing fixed out of warranty. So in the end, I bought a Dell, and am waiting on a computer nerd friend to recover what limited files are on the Lenovo G50's hard drive, as I mistrusted it so much I saved almost everything I needed on a flash drive anyway. My Dell runs better than this thing ever did, even when new.

Laptop is good with latest features
Laptop is good with latest features, but it doesn't come with backlight keyboard, its quite heavy and backside battery seems shakes when you hold the laptop though it has properly fitted, capslock key is quite loose may be its specific machine.some times i hear fan running noise and laptop getsheated but most of the time its noiseless.look and feel of the laptop is not quite good. i have not installed any softwares so far so not sure about performance.so far its very fast and comes up fast from sleep and it connects to wifi all the time, so i feel its worth the money.

still broken and waiting for help
I know I replied to this message 2 weeks ago but I have not received any help so far the manufacturer seems to think that it's your problem and the people of your and say I have to deal with the manufacturer who wants me to send it to Texas because the screen is set to its minimal brightness so it's impossible to configure the computer unless I can configure it I cannot actually change the screen brightness because the function keys do not work unless they are attached to Windows I've tried everything I can to fix it so if you could give me some advice on sending it back to you or perhaps you sending me another one so I have a box to send it back in that would be great because I just got back from vacation and I have to review this machine to see if we're going to buy a hundred of them for a company but the moment it's starting to look like we're not going to bother because they don't have tech support but I do on this one and I would like it to work so if you can sort something out that would be great and if you can at least grant me the decency of a reply thank you very much

Great work computer!
I purchased this computer a month ago and could not be happier. I build responsive websites for clients and use this as a dedicated web work computer. It's fast and hasn't had any issues in the first month of use.I read a review that said the sound wasn't all that great. I don't listen to music or play games so the sound is fine as far as I'm concerned. If you're playing games or listening to music you might want to buy a more expensive model. All my web building software works great on this machine. I just haven't found anything I don't like about this computer.

I have only had it 2 weeks but so far ...
I have only had it 2 weeks but so far it is ok. The space bar seems to not work very well. I have to touch it just right or it does not work. The mouse pad is just the opposite. Just moving my finger on it sometimes causes it to enter a command that I did not want. I will update this later.

Best. Mouse. Ever.
Best mouse I have ever used. Super comfortable. I've been on the computer all day, doing research, updating spreadsheets, scrolling though various sites, clicking on multiple links here and there, etc. Never have I experienced tiredness or pain like I would have had I used a regular mouse (the ones that come with the desktop). I've also used the mouse with the roller ball, which I find irritating and tiresome. This design "fits" the natural position of the hand. Lightweight, sleek look and most important, comfortable.
