Great Value in a Stainless Steel Stove Top Espresso Brewer.
I’ve been using one of the aluminum Stove Top Espresso Brewers, but I’m just not crazy about heating food or drink in aluminum. This was the most reasonably priced Stainless Steel Brewer I could find.A couple of other reviewers complained that it isn’t Stainless Steel. Rest assured that it is absolutely Stainless Steel. The inside of the bottom chamber has a bead blasted finish rather than a polished finish. I believe the rougher texture aids with heat transfer from the Stainless Steel to the water. At any rate as I said it is definitely Stainless Steel. The bottom chamber is heavy feeling and made out from a heavier gauge Stainless Steel than the top but I don’t consider the top to be flimsy. It makes a nice beverage and I like how the Coffee being forced into the top is directed downward rather than out to the sides like my old Brewer. If you like Stove Top Espresso, you should consider one of these, I’ve heard that they are cheaper directly from IKEA but the price here is still better than most of the other Stainless Steel Brewers I could find.

A cracked formed on it in less than a year.
Bought it from ikea directly. Worked for less than a year. The bottom part is from a thin plate of metal, it cracked open under little pressure. I have been making espresso for 30 years, and I have never seen anything like this. Very cheap.

Not all stainless steel; beware!
Several years ago I bought a large and a small espresso stove top maker at Ikea (same model) They both were all stainless steel inside and outside.I went back to purchase another to give to a friend and the whole inside bottom half had some other material inside that did not look at all like stainless steel. My first two pots where made of polished stainless steel inside and outside. When I asked about it no one could give me any information and the instruction insert does not mention what the pot is now made of inside in bottom part. It used to be shiny stainless steel like the rest of the pot and now there is some other coating. The pot still works pretty well..One has to be very careful of toxic materials being used to make products more profitable for companies!

OK coffeemaker - IKEA's budget version of a mock maker (but buy from IKEA)
Nice quick simple little coffeemaker that makes very good coffee quickly and easily. The coffeemaker holds about 1.5 cups ... so it will not be useful for a group of people, but it is a great little machine for your daily cup of coffee. Also it is easy to clean. It comes to a boil in under 5 minutes.I saw this for sale on Amazon and wanted to check it out since few of these types of coffeemakers have good photos or descriptions. I went to IKEA and saw this for 19.99 ... so would suggest getting it at IKEA if you are close to one and going there anyway.I bought this to replace my old aluminum Bialetti machine and one improvement over that is that when the water is forced through the coffee and above to the upper chamber it is directed down to the reservoir instead of out. My old aluminum machine would sometimes spray coffee out the top or if you opened it would spray coffee all over the stovetop. This will not happen with this coffeemaker. One thing, the reason I did not give this a 5 is that the inside does not feel like stainless steel so I am wondering if this is aluminum or something else with a stainless steel cladding, or if the inside is coated with like a non-stick coating.Another thing is that the area where the coffee "payload" is put creates a very thin area down inside the coffee pot part of the coffeemaker that is hard to see and hard to clean. Choosing not to make the thread area solid metal means that the two parts of the coffeemaker do not hold together really well and will bend and flex when heated under pressure. Water and steam will escape through the link between the two parts of the coffeemaker reducing the efficiency and making it a bit hot to hold.I have had to drop the rating one star to 3/5 because when I made my first coffee this morning in this machine quite a bit of steam escaped through the sides of the coffeemaker. In order to avoid this one must really tighten the two halves together to seal the unit before heating. Otherwise steam and water will hiss and boil out of the linkage between the top and bottom. It still works, and it works well, but it is sensitive to not being tightened strongly. Not really ideal.

Very Pleased - Makes excellent espresso!
This is a stainless steel espresso pot (don't buy aluminum) and it has lived up to my expectations and end some. There are other stainless steel espresso pots out there that cost more than this one, don't buy them. This one does the job not just well, but excellently. I never buy espresso from Starbucks now because it doesn't come close to the flavor and full-bodied espresso that this little pot puts out. I love it. It's easy to clean; take apart after it has cooled off and wash with soap and water, air dry and it's ready for it's next use. If you're looking for a stove top espresso pot that's durable and makes a great cup of coffee, buy this one. You might be able to find it at IKEA for $15 but I don't live near an IKEA, so I had to order through Amazon.

Interior is not stainless steel
The outside is stainless steel but the inside is coated with a grey material and rubs off and discolors. Would not purchase

Made in China - not like the older ones
I have an Ikea moka pot that was purchased several years ago. It was made in Italy, and works well. I went there to purchase one like it for a friend, and found this. Ikea price in the store is $19.99, but it is made in China, and appears to be much lower quality than the one I own, so I opted not to purchase it. As such, I can't say how well it works, but buyer beware.

Love this pot
Love this pot: it works well and is a great price. One problem, though: the bottom becomes black and rusty and it is not appetizing to put your clean water into it. I have had the same experience with 2 pots but, in fairness, I have left each one to overheat on the burner so I may have ruined them. I am going to try one more pot before I go back to the French Drip method.
