fabulous product
I wish I had taken photos of the installation but it was so easy. took no more than 15 minutes to do. remove gas cap Remove tail light, unplug it, look inside towards fender there will be a tab, push it in past the fender skin then work your way over the top towards another tab. repeat. now go to the outside and you can use your hand or plastic panel tools if you have them and work it around to pop loose. don't yank on it to avoid bending fender. it will pop off. now give a few wiggles to remove it and the rubber seal gasket. remove the seal and install on the new door. Since the piece is off might as well clean that dirt off the fender. now wiggle the rubber seal down over the filler neck and press the casing onto the fender. I held the filler neck with one hand and worked it on with the other. went really easy. once its snapped in replace tail light and your done. Looks fabulous!! Does the job it's suppose to. When locked its solid and no wiggle. Would recommend this to anyone looking to do this simple mod.

Great product for a great price!
Instructions were fantastic and incredibke easy to follow, especilally for someone with no experience. Fantastically low price for a locking gascap cover compared to the other options and it fit perfectly. This year, I moved into a new apartment complex and would regularly find my gascap undone. I don’t think anyone was trying to steal any of my gas as that would be difficult without getting caught, so I assume it was just disgruntled people who were mad I took their parking spot. I still wanted my car protected in case someone undid it and water or something else got inside before I could get to it.I looked around a lot and this one was by far the best priced and seemed to be identical to all the expensive options. The installation took about half an hour for beginners and came with the BEST instructions. They had pictures and diagrams for each step and were very easy to follow. It fit just as perfect as the stock gascap holder and looks great in the car. This is definitely the best option on the market!

Broke on install
Easy install of the cap door itself, solid door and mounting ring. The clips that hold the assembly in place are extremely cheap plastic, brittle, and one broke the second the assembly went into place. The seller replaced the assembly and it went in with no issues, no broken plastic. Seated properly, lock functions well. All in all solid experience.

Old guy
Very nice made of aluminum. Lock and key feels good and tight. Gas door lined up and snapped in place. I cleaned the rubber seal really good and I used some WD, this made it easier when it snapped in place. Very easy to install, it took me about 20 minutes. I did cheat by watching a couple of videos.

Very sturdy and easy to install
This our second locking gas cap. The first one we had installed by another company We were very disappointed so ordered this one. The quality is excellent. Heavy duty does not chip or fade and added security of locking cap. Very pleased

Forget about it.
Unfortunately, I have to agree with the rest of the one star reviews. I found removal of the OEM to be fairly straightforward. I cleaned up the old gasket and installed it onto this new cover. I took off the OEM gas cap and installed it onto this new cover. I pushed the new cover into place and worked the gasket back around the gas pipe. I then attempted to press this new cover into place. (In spite of the appearance of screws on both the OEM and this gas cover, these are press in, with tabs to hold them in place.) I had one heck of a time trying to get the tabs to go behind the vehicles sheet metal. The last tab broke off as I pressed and pressed and tried together it engaged behind the sheet metal. Going back to the OEM cover I could easily and quickly see that the OEM cover was made out of a more flexible material, whereas this cover used a hard (inflexible) plastic...that is brittle and easily breakable. Yes, this can be pried off of the Jeep, completely defeating the idea of a locking cap assembly. Also, this does easily turn when on the vehicle. Overall, to make this work correctly, you will need to use some adhesive behind the cover assembly to hold it to the vehicle's sheet metal and you will have to use some screws drilled through the plastic and behind the sheet metal to be certain this cannot be pried off the Jeep. In other words, you have to use pieces from the OEM cover, do some modifications yourself, use a lot of elbow grease and force, and hope it all works out, all while replacing the cover the actually has the original Jeep logo. Forget about it.
