3 Years Later
I've been using this system for 3 years now. There are some flaws which I'll mention but I've been through so many different setups over the years and haven't found anything I like more. With that said, just looking at the negative reviews it's clear that part of why I love my setup is due to other things I've done as well so I'll outline that in case it helps anyone else.I've placed this inside an IKEA drawer unit on wheels (I think it's the SMÅSTAD unit) for easy cleaning. I cut out a portion of the back for the cats to enter. I use a puppy pad underneath the front side and I have a Litter Genie off to the side.To clean, I simply scoop the poop into the litter pale and rotate the litter pad tray. I set it up on top of the drawer unit so I can pull the tray out on bottom and rotate it or replace it. It's very easy to dump everything into the garbage and start fresh when needed. The drawer helps to contain any smell and the pellets. It's easy to sweep anything that doesn't stay on the puppy pad. The main reason for the puppy pad underneath is because there have been a few times a cat has peed, pooped, or puked over the edge (mainly our two elderly cats that have now passed). It just really simplifies cleanup. You will know you have waited too long to replace the litter pellets if it really starts to smell bad when you pull out the drawer to clean. I exclusively use the multi-cat litter pads because they hold so much more than the regular ones. I tried some different ones on Amazon and they all suck. I found that only the official ones actually contain the smell or absorb as much. I also buy the 7 lb bags of pellets because it's more cost effective and allows me to add a little extra or top off as needed. So far my biggest complaint is that you have to make sure you place the litter pad perfectly centered with the edges on all four sides sticking up against the side walls of the tray. If you don't, you will end up with pee underneath the litter pad. I really wish it had a locking mechanism to clamp onto the sides. But I've gotten pretty good at it and have only had that particular problem probably 4 times. Somehow it's also been possible for pee to end up in the little dips next to the handles a couple of times.Another small issue is that if the cats pee too much in one area of the multi-cat litter pad it will swell up big enough to press against the bottom of the grated area, soaking anything above it which can make things nasty. A tiny bit more height or less absorbent litter pads would avoid that.My final complaint is that over time some powder from the pellets along with specks of feces do build up in the grate on bottom. When I go to dump the pellets into the garbage can and put new ones in, a bunch of it falls to the floor which can be a bit gross. I've tried taking the whole bottom in along with the tray but then the litter pad slides forward, bunches up, and jams the tray. Then it's a mess on a whole other level. Thinking about this again, I might try just holding a small trash liner or a piece of cardboard underneath next time and see if that solves it.In the end, this works better than anything else I've tried to contain mess from litter, contain the smell, and simplify cleaning. Every time I've done the math this ends up cheaper than anything else I've tried so that's just the icing on top.

Best Litterbox I've Ever Used
This is the best litterbox I've ever used. It's really big and roomy, which, in my opinion is essential for cats of any size to be able to move around comfortably. Ever since switching to larger litter boxes, it has completely eliminated accidents outside of the box.Initially I was using the XL high sided Scatter Shield litterbox, which I liked. However, I use paper pellet litter, and I was having to waste litter every week because the wet litter kind of disintegrates into "dust" and holds onto odor. Though I scoop the solids and as much wet litter as possible daily, I would still have to dump the whole thing every week because it's impossible to separate the dusty stuff from the pellets and scoop out, so I really wanted to try a litterbox with the the holes in the bottom for the dust and excess urine to fall through. The breeze system is perfect for that.I was hesitant to try this litterbox for a while because the sides of the litterbox rest on top of the base. I have a male cat who is a high pee-er, and I was worried that the urine would trickle down into the cracks between and leak. But when I finally decided to give it a try, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the edge of the sides that rests on the base has a groove, so the edge of the base sits between the groove, so it does not leak! I was also pleasantly surprised that the sides of the litterbox are not straight, but curve inward slightly, and so this seems to have eliminated my cat from peeing up over the side like he would sometimes do with our other high sided litterbox. So the Breeze system has eliminated all our problems, and I go through so much less litter. I still scoop solids and wet litter daily because I just like a clean litterbox, and feel it's more sanitary. I never have to dump my litter anymore, I just scoop what is dirty out, and the rest falls through the holes in the bottom. The remaining litter is clean and has no odor. I do not add more litter until its time to sanitize the box itself. To sanitize the box, I wait until the litter is low, move it all to one side, spray a paper towel and wipe down that side. Dry it, and move the litter to that side and clean the other side. Then I I add more litter to fill it. I'm never wasting ANY litter this way. I find this litterbox fairly easy to clean, too. There are some cons, but the pros by far out way them for me. The cons are1. You do have the extra expense of buying the pee pads for the bottom. However, the Amazon ones are cheaper and good quality, and they the size fits pefectly. And I only have to change the pads once a week, so in the long run, the cost of pads is far far less than what litter was costing me every month. I bought the pack of 40 and only using 1 a week, I will not have to buy more of them for quite some time. (Make sure to buy the unscented pee pads as scent may deter them)2. If you're using pellet litter, wet litter does sometimes gunk up in the bottom holes. Not a ton. And sometimes small pieces of broken litter get caught. This is easy to clean, I just take toothpick and punch everything through- simple, but can be time consuming so I stay on top of it every time I clean so that it doesn't get bad.3. My senior cat had stones in his bladder causing UTIs, and his urine was smelling insanely strong of ammonia. I was having to change the pads every other day to keep the odor down until his UTI was treated and gone. So I obviously had to buy pee pads much more often at the time- still worth it. BUT, normally, as long as your cat has normal urine, there is no odor until a week when the pee pad is full. There may be the slightest smell of urine, of course, but only when you're taking it out. It does not make the room smell. Multiple cats will obviously mean changing much more frequently.4. It is quite large so it does take up space. It's still worth it to me to have my cat be able to go comfortably and not have accidents. There are smaller versions, but they are not suitable for large cat breeds, and I personally still feel that it those are not enough space for average sized cats to comfortably move and eliminate.

This is an actual alternative that works
This is an actual alternative to traditional kitty litter that actually works. Like everyone, I hate cleaning the litter box, but this system makes it less of a chore. No dust or perfumy smell (you still get a slight whiff of kitty business) . The urine smell is completely subdued by the pee pad below. It may be slightly more expensive, but guests may not even know that you have cats...and that's the point.
