The hoock arrived very earlier more that wath expected. I not use yet but I will sun, the size right for baitfish good quality I like, I can not complain about anything I would recommend it.

These are the best baitfish hooks I've ever used, and I've gone through quite a few styles over the years. I became sick of hooks rusting but these solve that problem. Can also file them without worrying about anti-corrosion coatings. Have had a big fish (not the target) almost straighten one out but I just bent it back (surprising for stainless steel which almost always are too brittle for this) and am still baitfishing with that same hook. I think it's on its 3rd lure now and still going strong. Would buy again, in fact, have just done so. Not for me as they don't wear out, but for gifts.

I do a lot of surf fishing in SE Florida and rigs with hooks stay on my rods until a shark or something else makes me loose them. I quit Khale/wide bend style SS hooks because I went from sand fleas to fish bites and clam strips for bait and didn't need that big of a hook (just look at the size of a pompano or whiting's mouth). These smaller hooks are stronger and work well with pompano, whiting/croakers and even nice size permit. 5 months ago I decided to try Octopus style hooks with turned down eyes which worked great until the points started getting corroded. You have to have stainless steel hooks like these unless you change your hooks every trip and these hooks don't corrode. If somebody makes an octopus style hook out of stainless steel with a turned down eye, I'll give them another try. By the way I use #1s of these hooks and turn the eye of these hooks down with pliers before I rig them up with a 3 drop rig. This product would have got 5 stars if it had turned down eyes.

I went trolling yesterday for mahi-mahi. I hooked up to a screamer and it looked like it was an Ono, and just as I got it to the boat, it came off the hook. I pulled the lure out of the water to inspect it and the hook was about bent straight. Lost a dream fish. To be fair my drag must have been to much for the hook. I’d say the drag must’ve been 20-25lbs, but still sad that the hook bent.Also when I got the bag, all of the hooks were stuck to each other and VERY difficult to separate. I’ll include a photo so you can see what I mean.

Although these hooks have more competition that they did in the past, they are still a valuable addition to a salt water flyfisher's bench. They can use a little sharpening before tying a fly, but they are an economical choice compared to the leading Japanese brand hooks. Stainless steel is out of favor for other than flynfishing and these are good hooks that are strong and reliable. Since most flies are not broken off while fishing, stainless hooks do the fish little harm.
