Son loves this skateboard
My son is 10 and he loves this skateboard, as does his younger brother who is 8. The trucks did need loosened but if you have a newbie rider this will allow them to get used to balancing before they can really turn the board. My son had previously rode this board at a friend's house and he loved it. His friend has had two of them for quite awhile.I see that some have said there were too many things to do to get this board working and maybe for an older teenager, who is experienced, this might be true but for my 10 year old who just likes to ride around and cannot do tricks yet it was perfect.I'm a single mom and it was not hard to loosen the board up so don't let that scare you away from buying it. It seems pretty sturdy!I think it is a great buy and I'm glad my sons love it! I was going to buy another one now that my 8 year old decided he wanted one but they are out of stock right now.

Needed adjustment but a great board overall.
Overall it is a great board for kids. The trucks were not aligned and I had to make some adjustments to get it to roll straight. Also the trucks were set really tight and my son couldn't get the board to turn - had to loosen those up. If you're willing to make some adjustments, then it is a great beginner board for sidewalk riding.

Love this skateboard
Daughter purchased this with her own money and seems as if she made a good purchase. Of course Kryptonics is an old skateboard brand back from my days. I was pleased to see the wheels and trucks were decent quality. Smooth ride, good turning after the trucks were adjusted. The board is a cool color and has molded design on the top. Recommended for sidewalk skaters!

just as good
It was great, had to get broken in but its just as good as a penny. And you might want to think about lostening it up a bit

Okay for a kids first board.
This board is pretty much middle of the road. The deck is fine and seems as good as any but I was disappointed in the wheels. The wheels are hard and I was expecting softer for outdoor riding. The bushings were also hard. The axles are a bit narrow and allow a lot of slop. I bought this for my niece. She was stoked on it but I did have to change the bushings out so she could turn. I'll change out the wheels this spring. Until then the hard wheels are fine for rolling around inside. The deck and trucks on this one are still better than the one I had when I was a kid.

Works great...no need to get the "Penny" brand
I didn't want to pay for the "Penny" brand, but I didn't want to get a piece of junk either. This skateboard was less than half of the price of a Penny board and works great. I needed to loosen the nuts to let the wheels roll more freely (when spun, the wheels now go forever). I also loosened the main nuts to reduce the stiffness for turning. Works great now, and my 10 year old loves it.Many of her friends have Penny boards, but their boards don't work any better. Maybe if you were a professional you would notice a difference. Some others now have Kryptonics, too, so it's not like she's being shunned for not having the designer product.

Works.
Purchased a the yellow deck, blue wheel variant for around $30.I wasn't really expecting much from the board quite honestly, but I think that overall it works for me.For me, a penny board really wasn't worth investing in, I'm not trying to commute with this board--it's just for fun.To preface, I am a college student on a very large campus that plenty of students ride skateboard and longboards. Also, I weigh about 175-180 and the board rides fine. Even though I am over the weight limit. It's hard to turn out of the box, either loosen the trucks or just ride and deal with it.Eventually the bushings will soften and the trucks will loosen. For me, I changed out the bearings for Bones Reds and added some grip tape as well.Overall not a bad buy, even will the additions still cheaper than a penny so I am happy.

I love this board
I love this board. I think its perfect for beginners. Right now, I wouldn't know the difference between this and a more expensive board and frankly, its doing what its supposed to. I don't plan on doing any tricks right now either, if that makes a difference. And I think this is better, if you are still deciding if this is something you or your kid want to take on.
