Surprisingly good at blocking the wind!
I needed something to wear under my motorcycle helmet, so it needed to be thin. My only concern was whether or not it would keep my neck and face warm. Much to my surprise, this works perfectly! I ride my moped all year, winter too. This balaclava keeps my neck very warm and protects it from the wind. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a face covering to wear under a helmet.

Nice, but …
Light, comfortable, and keeps your head warm, but if you wear sunglasses or similar for skiing, cold-Wx walking, or riding a bike in the cold expect heavy fogging as I got when I wore it over my nose — the majority if not all of your warm breath will go up into the eye area. The only way this or any similar headwear won’t lead to fogging is if there’s some kind of ‘seal’ like ski or motorcycle goggles might give you to keep the breath from going up into that area. Of course, you can always pull it down under your chin or not wear sunglasses …

I loved this product

You will not believe this is so thin but it works
So I've been trying to get out to ride my bike later in the year. (Chicago) As the weather gets colder I need to keep the wind off me to stay warm. The algorithms pushed this up to the top on Amazon so I figured for 20 bucks why not. I was kind of surprised when I got it how thin it is. You realistically could ball it up in your fist and close your fingers over it and it would be hidden, its really like that thin. I expected more meat on the bone. I have used this now for rides down to 40° it’s worked out well. It does keep me warm, enough. Fit wise, I've got a fat head and it fits OK, I wouldn't want it a lot smaller but I don't think most of you out there have as fat of a head as I and it doesn't appear to come in sizes. Also, I don't have a lot of hair. That's good and bad. Keeps me from getting dates, but makes my head circumference smaller. The mask covering your mouth you can pull down to your chin, which is nice and its not overly “pully” on the rest of the hat (?). Its somewhat breathable if you use it to cover your mouth. I haven't ridden with it covering my nose much as that makes it (for me) harder to breathe, but that's my problem not the product. Side benefit I've got headsets on and I can now talk on the phone because if you pull this over your ears, it blocks out wind noise meaning people can hear you talk on the headphone (Jlab, in the ear type). It's worth buying for all but your arctic adventure, for that you might need more “meat”.

There are better options
I had already bought an inexpensive balaclava from Amazon and wanted a second. So I tried this one. I wish I had just gotten another of the one I already have. This one’s neck is too short, it hangs off the chin letting in cold air below and the material isn’t as warm. Fairly disappointed but will keep as a 35+ degree weather option.

Have purchased twice!
Great quality. Visual field is generous. Fabric is comfortable and washes well. Husband uses for wintertime walks with our dogs.
