There are less expensive salt containers out there which are fine if you don’t mind sawdust mingling with your salt. Eew! I quickly returned my less expensive purchase, searched and found this little gem made using the beautiful coloring inherent in Acacia wood, known for its strength, durability and natural beauty. Carved with fine workmanship, the lid slides open and closed with ease, the little spoon (too cute) stays in place lying nestled inside the container for ease of use, not to mentioned the smooth finish both inside and out which is free of saw dust. This container is large enough to hold a good amount of salt, yet small enough that it takes up little space. Definitely something you’ll want to display on your countertop. Is this salt container a game changer? This is a great design - simple yet very clever. The lid is attached by one pin that allows you to easily open it with one hand without spilling the cooking salt I store in it. It keeps the salt dry and is large enough to get me through a weeks worth of meal. I bought one for my uncle with the glass eye and he keeps it safe within when he prefers to not wear it.

I love it. I love the look of the wood and ease of use with the sliding lid. I feel as if I am a professional chef sprinkling my Maldon salt over my home-cooked gourmet meals.

I love this! If you’re looking for a gift for an aspiring cook or home chef, this is perfect. A big part of cooking is knowing how much salt to use, and what’s nice about this is that you can pour some salt into it and use a pinch to grab it, which really makes you feel like a pro. It’s also practical, typically, a pinch using your thumb and pointer finger is about 1g of salt, and a pinch using your thumb, pointer, and middle finger is around 2g, and so on.It’s great for the price. I’ve had mine for over 2 years now, and it still slides open smoothly.I plan on buying more for other blends, like one for flaky salt, one for rosemary and salt, etc.

Looks better than a big bag of salt sitting on the counter top. I appreciated the price - even went back and bought one for a friend.
