CURLSMITH Mini In-Shower Style Fixer Curly Hair Gel 2 oz / 59 mL

One of my go to gels for my wavy/curly hair. Great hold and can easily scrunch out the crunch after diffusing. I really haven’t met a Curlsmith product I don’t like, but the moisture collection is definitely my favorite.

The media could not be loaded. This is THE gel I’ve been looking for. It’s the only gel I’ve tried that not only creates a firm cast that lasts for days, but also adds definition as well. It has such a firm hold and keeps my waves and curls intact for days. I have 2C hair that ringlets at the end and other gels and mousses add hold this product creates SO much definition as well that I’ve never gotten from another gel. Couldn’t recommend more. My only issue is that I have incredibly sensitive skin and it makes my scalp a little itchy. That’s not the product’s fault, though, and I’ll continue to use it despite the itchiness because the results are worth it.

It worked okay for my wavy hair. I did apply it on soaking wet hair. I air dry and not diffuse, but maybe it would better if you diffuse.

LISTEN TO ME.... BUY THIS!!!! I have tried every product out there to get a decent curl. Midday my hair is flat and lifeless. However, this lasted AAALLLLL DAY. Never before has that happened. This is worth every penny. Follow the directions exactly. My Pic may not look like much curl to you, but believe me it is to me. This was at the end of the day!! I have wavy hair so I was trying to define the waves and remove the frizz. Happily, it gave me MORE. Usually this mess is flat. So yay!

Defines curls nicely. A little goes a longgg way. Leaves a white cast sometimes on my dark brown hair. Doesn't diffuse into softer, more voluminous curls. It cause my hair to be very stiff.

This gel was just too much for my hair. I tried so many times to make it work. I even used a watered down dime size amount on my entire head and it was still too much. I have fine hair and it’s low porosity so it just isn’t my thing. It arrived quickly, smelled nice and would probably be someone else’s holy grail I take no stars away. I got the mini to try, glad they have that option.UPDATE: Gave up on this product and was trying to to give it to a “curlier” friend, who asked “do you use it with a leave in?” I did not. I’m wavy so I avoid leave ins and creams but since it got brought up figured I’d try, guess what? It worked beautifully. I get the hype now and have ordered the full size. This product takes practice I will say that but if you can crack the code it’s amazing.

Note: I give one star based on my experience with this product. Everyone's hair is different so you may have better experience.My hair type is 2a/2b mix (mostly 2a), low porosity, not chemical or heat treated, hair strand type is medium-thick mix, and quite long (falls to my elbow). Hair is soft to the touch, but gets frizzy (curls and flyways) almost as soon as it dries/ exposed to humidity.I tried this product in different conditions (changing the shampoo, leave-in etc) and amounts, never saw any improvement. The only noticable change happened when I fiddled with the amount used, and that's described below.When I tried the recommended amount there was no cast to crunch. After drying it felt like each of my hair strand (note: strand, not lock) were covered in sticky mud (it didn't look bad, but felt really rough to the touch). And it was frizzier than ever.Then I tried with more product because I thought I'd need more because of my thick hair. Now there are was a cast, but it was not the type I could scrunch out. Maybe I'm doing it wrong but locks of my hair felt like they have been laminated/stuck together with glue. This product does "hold" the some curls I had, but only by being sticky, and not by locking in the moisture.The smell of the product is like some scented erasers I had used in school. As a child I liked that scent in pencil erasers, but not interested in my hair smelling like that. It's not a nauseating chemical smell, and it's not a herbal/natural smell. More like a sharp sweet smell. I would have tolerated it if the product worked for my hair. Still, if you are fragrance sensitive, better give this product a miss.

I travel constantly (flight attendant) and spend most of my time in the UK, where liquids restrictions are among the tightest. I need a simple system for getting ready. The products I take with me (in sample containers) need to really count! My regular routine consists of about 3 different styling products and I was hoping for something to simplify that. THIS is it! This was only my first use. I'm feeling out just how much product to use. doesn't take much and it does everything I need! Love how it feels! This is going to be the only styling product I take on my trips. I say this confidently. I even wore my hair down last night when I went out in Edinburgh, Scotland! I wasn't embarrassed by frizzy locks!
