WindChaser WC163 Outdoor Misting Fan

I bought this fan for my husband a few years ago it worked so well he bought another one.We have a large deck and have parties a lot in summer, we have all sun in our yard andthis is perfect to cool us off. It also works great to mist plants that need minimal water. We planted our garden last year and then there was going to be frost at night, we set the fans up with slight water spray and oscillating and nothing froze. Our neighbors thought we were crazy...but they lost everything not us.Also we have camp fires and like to enjoy our deck at night. We don't like using off and decidedthat mosquitos can't fly in the wind, so we use it at night without the water feature..Perfect, if youhave one try this it really works we put one on each side where we are sitting and oscillate them.We have had them for 3 years and still going strong.

Looks cheap; experienced excessive vibration when first turned on, but seemed to work OK. Next time I turned it on, it WOULD NOT operate at all. Looks like a total waste of $120.48.

First order arrived with broken motor mount - bad packaging or re-packaged after return and shipped to me as new. Replacement arrived looking OK but after assembling (about 45 minutes) fan motor proved bad, would not run at all. Obviously the manufacturer has no QC or product testing. I would NOT recommend this product by mail-order. Amazon was great with handling returns. I found a unit half-price at CostCo and it works great but it is still cheaply made - but worth the $40 I paid for it.

We ordered 3 for a backyard party on the hottest days in July in NY. They were pretty easy to assemble and the mist was great., not a super soaker, which most would not have mind in the heat, but just enough mist to keep you cool. They are pretty sturdy too, although we kept sand bags atop the base because they were on the grass and because of so many kids running around.

This is my 2nd one of these fans. They work well for a year or so, then the plastic fan gears mess up. I won't buy again. Too much $ for the time they last.

I like the fan, it was fairly easy to assemble. It looks good and it does cool like they claim. The only bummer is that it can only be used outdoors because not all of the mist evaporates, much of it drops to the ground and on tables and chairs etc. So you really can not use it too close to patio furniture. The plants love it and people walking into it love it. Outdoors it is perfect for a hot California sunshine day.

This fan is very poor quality. I bought it last year and the part that rotates the fan broke the second use. So the fan just droops without moving. So we used it very little. Now the electric plug makes a loud loise and the fan will only operate on low speed. No idea what caused that. I'm now afraid to use it, even if I could stand the noise, so it is garbage.

This fan is wonderful. I live in Houston and normally don't "sit" outside between June and October, but this fan has changed that. It really does cool things down. One tip, I bought a little turn off valve at the hardware store that goes between the garden hose and the hose on the fan so that I don't have to walk all the way around the side of the house to turn off the water. That way I can leave the water on all day and just turn it on at the fan when I want to sit outside. The fan was extremely easy to put together. The price was also the lowest I found. Fast delivery. Excellent product. I highly recommend it.
