A good companion for anyone on high dose prednisone therapy!
I think that this and "Coping with Prednisone" are good companions for anyone on high dose prednisone therapy. Both are serious, but with a nice amount of humor.

Very Helpful for PMR Sufferers
Getting a diagnosis of PMR is very unsettling; however, after the initial symptoms of debilitating pain, and the difficult journey to get to the definitive diagnosis, it is nice to know what is causing so much pain. Being told steroids (prednisone) is the only option is very frightening. Yes, less than 24 hours after taking 15mg I was pain free, but then comes the difficult decision to forego steroids given their horrible side effects. I stopped them out of fear. I know quite a few people who have a dx of Fibromyalgia, but I had never heard of PMR; the two are not to be confused. I appreciated reading the journal of another PMR sufferer and how she muddled through what to do. I can understand the lure of over-medicating with aspirin, iburprophen, etc.; it is erroneously done out of desperation to escape the pain. I appreciated knowing someone else with PMR; I could empathize, and I could learn from this author.

A Sham---No scientific information--even her lab values are incorrect.
This is not written by a medical professional. This author was so stupid as to self medicate with more than 2000 mg of Aspirin--enough to kill herself. Do not take this information as bonafide. It's expensive and has no value.
