Very easy to use
This does a great job of holding onions and tomatoes in place so that I can slice them easily and evenly. In the past, I’ve had problems with them sliding apart as I sliced, but no longer. I plan on trying it out on celery, potatoes, sweet potatoes, eggplant, hard boiled eggs and maybe even on roast beef. I’ll bet I’ll be able to find many more uses for it before it’s all said and done. It’s very sturdy and I expect it will outlast me!I would certainl recommend this to everyone. It is definitely a handy little kitchen gadget and well worth the price.

Where Has This Been All My Life?
I thought this might help chopping onions; so, I bought it.Within the first hour after I Unpacked this well-built Tool (the handy Protective Tip-Cover is a nice Bonus!), I used it for the following:1. Chopping an Onion. Check! No need for Gloves, the slices were uniform, and it was easily four times as fast as wrestling with the onion.2. Tenderizing a Steak. Wow! Multiple strong, sharp "Nails" do a great job of breaking-down the fibers in a chewy steak. Just like using a fork; but faster, easier and betterer! :-)3. Poking Vent Holes in Microwave "Baked" Potatoes. Yeah! What's a Steak without a Baked Potato? I used this Tool to Poke several Holes in the Potato Skins; and this worked Better and Faster and Easier than the usual fork or knife-treatment (the large Handle really helps!)So, I'd say this is a Must-Have in my Kitchen from now on! Just Get It! You'll see..

Even if you didn’t love gadgets…
Does the job, on tomatoes, hard boiled eggs, onions, raw potatoes—so far. I’m eager to try it on bagels because I like to cut mine in thirds instead of halves, which is hard to do well by hand. Saves money and carbs, and besides, bagels are just a cream cheese delivery device. I’ll use this on pitted olives, slippery things like sun-dried tomatoes, cold cream cheese, butter and more. I think it would be good for tenderizing meat and even testing vegetables for degree of doneness. My only quibble is that the very slim handle makes it difficult to pull out of raw potatoes, etc.The prongs are very solid, thick enough to take on most things I can think of. Should hold up well over time. The design would fit any size hand—again, NOT FOR KIDS, and is ambidextrous.Easy to store because it’s completely flat—but KEEP AWAY FROM KIDS. The prongs are very sturdy, and the points are very sharp. Nice point guard included for storage, but it’s transparent, so put it down where you can see it. (Maybe that’s just me…I’m old.) Also make sure the prongs are thoroughly clean and dry. You’d be challenged to try to get any crumbs out of the cover.A quick wipe with a soapy sponge is all you need for clean up. I haven’t tried the dishwasher yet; again be very careful of the points.BTW, because the prongs are spaced closely, you'll have better luck guiding your knife along the prongs, rather than trying to keep it between them. BE CREATIVE! Depending on what you're slicing, you can cut between every other or every third prong. It’s not hard to move the prongs along to the next set of cuts, just push the first prong into the last hole of the previous slices. If you’re being very fancy, be aware that if you push the prongs all the way through the food, you will see little holes on the bottom. Complete insertion isn’t necessary.

Simple but effective
Simple device, but it works, and this one is quite well built and a substantial improvement over the rather flimsy version of the same tool that I have used in the past.

Helpful for disabled users
Works fine but not what I expected. Best advice is to cut the product in half first then use it to slice. More manageable.

Great gadget for visually impaired!
I’m legally blind and struggle in the kitchen, especially cutting and slicing safely. I just got this gadget and am really impressed at the quality and ease of use! I quickly and cleanly sliced this tomato without any close calls. Highly recommend for anyone who struggles with either dexterity in their hands or visual acuity!

great
This little item is just great, it is the best for onions. But works good on holding hot items like steak, chicken breasts, boneless ham and roasts, and helps cut uniform slices. Really sturdy. It would be nice to have a little larger one!
