So glad I didn't listen to the nay sayers
I decided to jump right in and try silk after being far away from needle work for decades. After buying the many packs I then decided to read some reviews. I read mostly the bad reviews first and then got scared. I couldn't stop the delivery so I thought well, I can at least look at them before I decide.I then read the positive reviews. Thank you to those who took the time to explain how to unwrap them and handle the silk. It seemed to me easy, as they described the process. The floss arrived yesterday and I sat down and open one pave of loosely knotted thread. The knot, was barely a knot and it slid apart with east. I made sure I had no rough nails and that my skin was smooth. I easily slid one knotted end color away from the rest of the bundle by pulling the know slowly down and away, the one skein(PS) or knotted color easily pulled away with no tangling or knotting. I continued on and learned quickly how the silk works. It works easily if you pay attention and do not force anything.I was so surprised it was so easy, after reading the negative reviews I then smoothed one color of thread out at a time. Put the non-knotted end against a thread wrapping card. Wrapped the thread around and used the knotted end to secure it in place in the slit. I then packaged same colors together in sandwich baggies and packed them in a see through storage bin. I figure I will then work on getting the threads I need from them when I will use them. Beautiful colors lovely sheen and the feel is wonderful. I also got some silk ribbon ordered as well. I am going to love working with this thread. I love it already.

Nice sample pack of silk
The quality is good for making Chinese velvet flowers yet very poor when used for embroidery. It's easy to use once you use a hand cream on your hands. The shine is beautiful and very lustrous. The size of the skeins are small yet good as a sample pack. The pack has a good variety of colors.

Perfect for me! Maybe not for those who can’t handle a little bit of tangles.
I received these in the mail a few weeks ago and I couldn’t be more happy. The delivery takes a while since it’s shipped from China but it arrived right when the estimated delivery date was, and with this affordable price, it was worth the wait. These silk threads are so vibrant and pretty! I ordered them to make headbands for handmade books, but I can imagine it will be beautiful as an embroidery. It comes with 10 color coordinated bundles that has 5 different colors, giving you 50 colors total. The bundles easily come apart into separate colors. Like others said in the reviews, it is pretty easy to get tangled and because they have such fine fiber and can get snagged on plastic edges or even hang nails and dry skin. But as long as you are patient and you take your time it’ll be fine. In fact, I kind of find it therapeutic to unravel the threads and wrapping them around a bobbin by hand. Plus, you really can’t beat this price for such quality threads. But after all, if you get irritated or inpatient easily, or simply don’t have time to spare, then this is not for you and you’re probably better off paying a bit more for something easier to manage.

The Mulberry Silk is Okay... for what it is.
I am modifying my review of the Mulberry Silk Embroidery Thread because I have seen so many negative reviews by people who purchased this product.I like the silk embroidery thread. And it is a thread, not a floss. What most or even all americans failed to realize or learn about, is the high and demanding special care and handling that pure and real silk commands.I spent a good deal of time studying and learning about silk. Yes, it is difficult to work with and yes, it is very sticky. But I learned to keep a hand lotion close by. When the silk sticks to my hands it's usually because they are too dry. Lotion corrects that. The properties of natural silk are second to none. I'm not wild about the skeins and the way that they are handled. But the product overall is actually amazing and I've come to really enjoy working with it. Time, patience, smooth hands and lotion are key to successful working with pure silk of any kind. Even a single silk strand separated from a silk thread is dozens of times stronger than cotton thread 20X thicker. And it is always soft, delicate and smooth to touch. Learn to use it correctly and you will be very happy with the results.

Great budget option but color transfer is unfortunate
Many colors for the money. Quick shipping and was not tangled as many others complained about. The skeins are tied off but I just used the back of a farming needle or laying tool to gently loosen the bundling knots.Unfortunately the purples are NOT colorfast and they produce tons of color transfer just by passing through ground fabric. Tried using on white and the end transfer made my project stained and ungiftable. TEST YOUR COLORS BEFORE USE ON YOUR PROJECT!

Beautiful silk thread
Beautiful silk thread, tons of colors, and inexpensive! I've wanted to try real silk thread but was put off by the prices in stores and some sites. This was just what I wanted. I recommend buying DMC plastic floss bobbins -- available at Amazon -- and following the advice of several posters. That includes: rub some lotion into your hands before touching it -- it is so delicate that it WILL catch on any rough skin; unknot the skeins by pulling gently on each end -- they immediately come undone; don't mess with the strands til you're ready to wind onto the bobbins, or they'll get tangled; and do stretch the opened skein between two uprights (pitchers, bottles, yarn winder, or as someone else recommended, an upside down side table! Whatever works for you!) so it holds its tension as you wind it onto the bobbin. I don't mind the time it takes -- that's why I do crafts! Can't imagine why you would unless you're a professional (in which case,it could be built into your price), or you're rushing to finish a present, in which case I do sympathize, been there too . . . Hope you try these threads and enjoy them.

Absolute nightmare!!!
The colors are beautiful but they absolutely threw the mess in a bag for me and my sister to deal with. Two hours later and I give up and sending the mess back.
