No leaks if you follow these simple directions!
I have never written an amazon review before in the many years I have been a customer. I felt compelled to do so after seeing all the bad reviews this product has unfairly received. I studied all the good reviews and bad reviews before I bought this and I gave it a try. I've had it setup for a month now and it works PERFECTLY. Not a single drop of water has leaked. The secret to making sure it doesn't leak from the faucet tap is to follow the advice of another reviewer who had success with this method and posted it. I used his technique and it worked just as he said it would. When you install the faucet you will find that you are supplied with two rubber gaskets that go one on each side of the metal housing of the dispenser body. You will notice that these gaskets are flared out with the flared end facing away from the metal on either side. The secret is to make sure that it is tight enough that these gaskets are no longer flared but flush on either side. If they do not appear flush or almost flush, it's not tight enough and it might leak! Hand tightening is not enough, you need to use a pliers or ideally a 1-1/8" socket over the nut and turn that by hand. If the gasket is still not flush or you want to be extra sure, fill the tank with HOT water up to the top of the nut and let it sit for 5 minutes. Carefully drain the hot water and immediately take your socket and tighten it again. You will find you will get another half turn out of it at least. Obviously, be careful not to over tighten or you could bend the metal. So to summarize, if the gaskets do not appear flush its not tight enough! It may leak. It's that simple folks. All the jokers who are saying the good reviews are paid reviews or there is no wrong way to do it are fools. These are not paid reviews, it's common sense and yes there is a wrong way to do it. As far as it leaking out the seams as some have suggested I have no seen that and since those are all old reviews I think it's safe to assume the manufacturer has since corrected any of those kind of defects. I highly recommend this dispenser. For the ultimate combo buy the no spill cap that works for crocks. Works great.UPDATE: Over 2 years and 4 months later and not a single drop has leaked from either the tap or the seams. We use it every day. Fantastic product.

Had to order a replacement, but I am happy
First one arrived cracked, I returned and got it exchanged for a new one. It arrived and I installed it quickly and it works great! It is easy to use. It looks great, although I may get a cover for my 5 gallon jug, but it fits perfectly. And my children can use it and serve themselves.

One of the worst product I ever bought....a water dispenser that leaks
total price paid: 71.85Hello.Although I been purchaseing products for well over decade from Amazon, I never written a review for Amazon before.. till now.Just an awful product. This is a very cheaply made, badly engineered and awful quality control for such simple device costing so much for what it is.As soon as I set this up, it sprung a leak from the spoket that connects to main body of the dispenser.I tightened the plastic nut that holds the spigot to the stainless steel reservoir as much as I can to stop the leak.Apparently you can't...The provided rubber gasket(washer) that's designed to prevent leak is "not soft enough" to do its intended job, so it's letting water out about drop per second. Also, because there isn't any built in "stopper/blocker", if you happen to even just tap the spigot accidently, spigot gets loose and water is leaking everywhere. This is a cost cutting, lack of real world product testing and poor engineering at its best...Later, I also found another slow leak from the reservoir base. The reservoir is made of what looks like thick sheet metal, machine rolled body and stamped on base. The leak is coming from where the body meets the base.Considering the risk of more copies being defective as mine was, I will not, can not recommend this product to anyone.EDIT: 7/18/2011I wouldn't go as far as to say disregard all five star reviews. However, I just want to point out that couple of five star reviews are "most certainly suspicious."EDIT: 8/23/2011The two obviously "funded" reviews been removed since this morning.I won't guess who or why they did this, because I don't need to....just awfulEDIT: 9/22/2011To FINALLY address the possibility of faulty installations; You really can not improperly set this up...How many sane ways can anyone install this product? It's like Lego set for three year olds, there's only ONE logical way to assemble this thing...If there ever were some other weird unorthodox ways of assembling it, I would have tried it that too, just to stop the leak and deal with it...but there wasn't...I would much prefered to have this thing work then to waste my time and energy of going through the trouble of repacking and sending this thing back.I don't know about current copy, but when I purchased this product back in 2008, it was badly engineered using very VERY cheap defective "imported" parts.I simply wrote the review based on M.Y. own personal experience ONE particular copy of this product, the company behind it , and people who work for the company who produced this product.

Stainless version is well built, but does not come with a lid.
The stainless steel version is well built. Tightened the spigot down and had a small leak at first but gave it another turn and it stopped. I didn’t realize that this did not come with a lid. Wasn’t very clear in the description, bit I will keep it and try to find one that works for it.

Original Design Vintage Style Water Dispenser
This ceramic water dispenser pot is very nice. It holds probably 2.5 gallons of water. I fill it with 3 gal water bottle (pictured). The metal spout did not come with it, nor did the lid. These were purchased separately from Amazon. The lid doesn’t match, even though it is the same brand. The pot came with a rim protector, but I am not using it because it does not work with the lid. It works fine if using the water bottle on top of the pot.

Great quality and price!
I’ve bought other water crocks, but this one is thicker and sturdier. It was just what I was looking for; no frills/extras that I didn’t need and the packaging was professionally done to protect it in shipping. Highly recommend.

The dispenser looks good and is easy to use
This is what my daughters use, and so I ordered one. To my surprise, it is easy to use, looks good, and sits well on my stand. We have a place nearby that is a well pump that runs continuously to give us free water, so now that I have the 3 gallon bottle to put on the dispenser, I will be able to join my daughters to go get water. I ordered the 3 gallon instead of the 5 gallon bottle so it will be easier to lift it, as I too old to carry the 5 gallon bottle full of water.
