UPDATE from review below: I got my money's worth I suppose; had this umbrella for a few years, but on a recent windy day the PLASTIC interior support beams/bars broke. Not as sturdy as I's hoped. I had to purchase a new beach umbrella, this time I bought one that has very sturdy METAL support beams.OK, this thing is sweet. When I ordered it I was a little worried about the screw-like threading at the base (the part that screws into the sand to anchor it), and whether it was enough to do the trick. Well it worked like a charm when I put it up at the beach on a fairly windy day. Rock solid when you use the provided "power twist" mechanism to screw it into the sand. Big and very hip/fashionable looking, making you look like a seasoned beachgoer even if you're just visiting from Wisconsin! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because when you connect the umbrella-pole to the base-pole it will only go in about 4 inches. It is still sturdy and all, but I just wish it would let me telescope the pole in so I can have a customized height (i.e., lower the umbrella to just over my head instead of having to settle for 4 feet over my head, if that makes sense). Other than that, a very well-built and sturdy umbrella.

Well, the design of the pole is great, but the first time I used it one of the prongs that holds the canopy open separated at the "hinge" so now every time I use it I have to basically put it back together as I open the umbrella. Thought the quality would have been better, considering it's a Nautica. Guess another one, by another manufactured, is in my future.

I bought 4 of the umbrellas for my house on the beach in windy baha. I was very impressed by their design for effectiveness in wind conditions and how well they screw down into the sand. I have had other types blow off in the wind, never to be seen again. Plus, they are very attractive....

Ended up being quite sturdy and held up to a moderately windy day. There is a little wiggle room for the pole to move up and down when secured in the plastic clasp, but it was not an issue.

Bought two of these for the beach in the Bahamas. Easy transport in the included bag, easy set up and take down, strong enough for a windy day. Happy with purchase.

Great Umbrella for the price. I was pleased.
