Hello everyone, my name is John and this is my honest opinion on this product.You can buy candles almost anywhere. With so many retailers and brands, it is hard to choose which ones to buy. Maybe you like how one smells but it is too small. Maybe you like how one smells but it is too expensive. Well my fellow candle buyers, look no further than the Vanilla Bean Woodwick Jar Candle by Virginia Candle Company. Now I have to say this was a gift for a friend but I have owned many different Virginia Candle Company Candles in the past and I have loved them all. They are a conversation piece around the holidays and whenever family is over I always hear, "What is that smell? It smells great!" or "What is that crackling sound, is that the candle?" Now, for someone who has never bought one of these candles before, you may not know that these candles actually do make a nice crackling noise as they burn. Nothing dramatic enough to make the in-laws think there is a raging, crackling fire in the other room at thanksgiving, but not quiet enough that you have to tell everyone to quite down so you can admire that satisfying crackling and popping coming from the candle. It is honestly probably my favorite attribute to these candles. I just love that little crackle so much because of how satisfying it is .Anyway, you are probably tired of reading me talking about my obsession of crackling candles so here is what I can tell you about the smell. They have many great scents that are a pure delight to your nostrils. These candles give off a scent that is noticeable, but not too faint. The scent is strong, but not overpowering. Each of these candles smell just perfect. Now the reason I choose to review this specific scent of candle is because it is my favorite. It truly smells like vanilla bean, one of my favorite smells. Another notable attribute to these candles is the duration of burn time you have. Unlike your traditional wick, these candles burn longer and better. Plus they give a pretty little flame which looks a bit different from your generic candle. Anyway, thats all I really have to say.In conclusion, I would highly recommend this candle or any other candle by Virginia Candle Company. If you ask me how high these candles raise the bar, I would tell you that they are the bar. Nothing can beat them. But in all seriousness, I really do enjoy these candles and have given quite a few of them to my friends and family as gifts after they had asked me about them. These candles really are unique from any other because of the wick they use. If you are considering these candles, I really would encourage you to purchase one because you will not be disappointed with it. I will admit they are a bit pricey compared to your generic candle, (I mean seriously, 18 dollars for a candle) but these truly are a higher quality of candle compared to other brands. Smells wonderful!

This is a staple in my house. Beautiful glass that has never broke. Lasts a long time diffusing and pleasant smell. Crackles as it burns do not trim wick ! Definitely purchased again. Wonderful for gifts

We like to burn candles on our screened in balcony. The candle design is pretty and the candle lasts forever, but the best part is our whole balcony smells soooo good when we open our balcony doors. Even though our screened balcony is open to the outside, the fragrance lingers. Love it!

I bought this as a gift for my wife, who loves "schtinky" candles. I can't tolerate the really overly perfume-y candles, and was mighty happy when she lit this and we found that it has a very quiet, subtle yet deep vanilla aroma, just the way a scented candle should be, if you ask me. It's not quite as good as eating Breyer's vanilla ice cream, but it's not that far away either.The packaging is nice, and it was shipped very well. I like the lid for the candle jar, which becomes a very nice coaster once your candle is all gone up to candle heaven.The candle lights easily and burns well, not too fast, lasting for us a little longer than advertised. One thing I'll note, though: this is a noisy candle. That wood wick, for whatever reason, makes a lot of little popping and crackling sounds. This is not like a bowl of rice crispies or the crunch of shoes on a snowy sidewalk, but while most candles are for all intents and purposes silent, this one most certainly is not. It was only distractive for the first couple of times we burned the candle, just figuring out where that sneaky little background crackling was coming from. Once we identified it, it was no big deal, and soon enough we didn't even notice it anymore.Bottom line: This is a new adventure, however small and arguably trivial, in your domestic scented candle-burning journey. This is a nice product, and I recommend it.

Love these candles and the sound of the wick is like a little wood fire.
