South Park: The Stick of Truth: Prima Official Game Guide Paperback – March 4, 2014

Prima's Official Game Guide for "South Park: The Stick of Truth" is a great guide that will help players complete the main storyline, side quests, and find all collectibles. The first thing that struck me when my guide arrived in the mail was its size. This guide was a lot bigger than I expected. At 368 pages, you're definitely getting your money's worth. For a paperback guide, it looks pretty good.Appearance: For those who like glossy pages in their game guides, you'll be disappointed in this regard. The pages are regular paper, but it makes sense given that the guide is so large. Glossy paper would probably have raised the price significantly. This guide is filled to the brim with screenshots, something I always appreciate in a game guide. It is very colorful and pretty well organized. The guide also comes with a pretty large, removable, folded up map of South Park. The map gives the location of everything from collectables to buddies to quest locations. The map is in color and glossy-textured.*MINOR SPOILERS*Organization: It is organized into 6 main sections (with subsections within each category):"How not to get screwed"- gives you the "do's and don't's" of the game, there are some very helpful tips here."Classes"- explains the four classes your character can choose from (Fighter, Mage, Thief, and Jew), gives an explanation of the different attacks these classes come with and why you'd want to choose them."Buddies & Bastards"- this section delves into your allies and your enemies. Most of the game you will be accompanied by one "buddy" at any given time (Butters, Cartman, Jimmy, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny). These buddies are interchangeable, so you can play with them all. The guide explains the advantages/disadvantages that come with each buddy. It also informs you of what combat moves they use, which I think is very helpful. The "bastards" are your enemies (elves, aliens, hobos, gingers, Nazi zombies, dire bears/wolves/snakes, bosses, etc.). The guide explains their strengths (what they're immune to, their styles of attack, etc.) and their weaknesses. There are many elaborate charts in this section which will help devise the perfect attacks against any given enemy."Walkthrough"- This title is self-explanatory. This section (which constitutes the bulk of the guide) is the walkthrough of all quests, including the main storyline and the side quests. It is filled with many screenshots of gameplay. It also has complete lists of all available loot in South Park. One of my favorite parts of this section was the tips for achievements/collectibles. It's easy to forget/miss some of these things and if you follow the guide while you play it'll remind you when to look for these things."Achievements & Collectables"- Again, self-explanatory. Only a couple pages, but it gives you a complete list of all achievements and a list with all the locations of the Chinpokomon collectables."S*** in the Back"- This section acts as a sort of index for all weapons, armor, consumables, junk, flair, weapon strap-ons, and equipment patches. Pretty much everything you'll ever pick up in the game is in this section. Everything is well charted out, with pictures and all available information for these objects.Another thing that deserves mention is the free mobile version. The game comes with a code for a free e-guide. It's the full digital guide, which is pretty cool if you want to use your tablet/phone instead of hauling out the book. In conclusion, I really enjoyed this guide and felt it was well worth the money spent. I definitely recommend it to people who have more than just a casual interest in the game. My only complaint is that I wish I had it before I played the game through the first time (which is my own fault). It would have been helpful to know more about the game mechanics/location of collectables going into the game. So, if you haven't played "The Stick of Truth" yet and you want this guide, I suggest waiting for the guide if you're patient.

Good instruction on how to play game if you get stuck. Only fault not follow game pattern have to search some for section your on in game.

This guide has helped me find all the secrets and items in the game. The game is awesome and this just helped me get what i needed to get the achievements! Great addition to an great game.

Great guide! The first time I played through there was one area that I missed for 100% and I couldn't go back to it later in the game. The next time I played with this and was able to complete it!

Great book, has,a lot of spoilers, helps,with the bosses and the hidden things around, the game is rather crude but that's south park for ya, funny game,and book.

I'll give this book a 5 star rating, because it is very well made.First thing though. The last time I played any sort of game like this was FF7 on PS2. And even then - I only made it halfway through the game.This game, excellent - and I finished the game, then ordered the book because I figured I could go and get all the extra stuff people kept mentioning in their reviews of the book. Well, I think if you finish the game, you have basically seen it all. In the entire book, there was only 1 thing I had not seen on my play though of the game - everything else I already knew or had seen. That was disappointing.However, again the book is excellent. I have no issues with the humour of the writers and thought it complimented the book well.If you have trouble playing, completing this game, then it's a great resource.

This is probably one of the most useful strategy guides I have ever bought. This guide is very detailed and comprehensive and can help you finish quests faster, and complete the game the most efficient way possible.

Sin ser necesaria para pasarte el juego, está guía ofrece un repaso completo (excepto algunas cosas que en "papel" no han podido poner y lo han reservado para la versión electrónica) a todo lo que ofrece el juego: personajes, elementos, historia...Lo mejor: un mapa del juego de regalo y un código para redimir la versión electrónica.Lo peor: que Prima Games siga sin editar guías en castellano.

Most people like to play games by just winging it.. that's not me I love to 100% the game the first time around if possible to get the most out of my first play though.. and get those trophies/achievements depending on the platform you are playing on. I've also recently liked the idea of collecting the strategy guides.
