Update: Saved our floors! (Was: Hits every expectation.)
I have these and the Instapark IN07A sensors. These are better in many ways.First, the sensor wires wrap around it, on the flat outside. So it's far more sensitive than the Instapark. You can set it off with a dry finger! And this model has an LED. And a low battery warning. The Instapark does have a cord, so you can put the sensor in an otherwise hard-to-reach area and still be able to change the batteries. And it's louder, although this unit is loud enough.======================================Update 01-Jan-2019. Yeah, first thing early New Year's morning. Beeeep beep beep beep Beeeep! Repeat.Huh?Water under one of our toilets. The alarm went off quickly, but it took a few minutes (including looking at the manual for the Toto Washlet) to figure out what was making that noise. It was leaking a good amount of water (from the inlet to the toilet - don't know how it chose now to go loose), and would have done a lot of damage if not found fast. In ten or so minutes it would have reached the wood floors. And we wouldn't have found it for several hours if not for the alert. Not our happiest 45 minutes (fixing the toilet.) Put down a fresh alarm - the first one isn't yet recognizing it's dry now, but it did wind up pretty wet - and are grateful we have them!

They work!
After having a water disaster ($30K insurance claim) last year, I saw these and decided to try them. Put one under the dishwasher, behind the fridge, under the water heater, under kitchen sink, and under our front-loading washing machine (which is in the middle of the house). Within one week, the one under the washing machine started beeping. It wasn't the washer, but a gallon jug of distilled water that was sitting on the floor next to the washer that had sprung a leak. Thankfully it wasn't too bad by the time I got to it, and once the floor was cleaned and dried, I replaced the leak detector and back to normal. Very happy with this purchase.FYI: I originally had considered getting WiFi detectors (quite a bit more expensive) for those times we aren't home, but realistically it didn't make sense. First, many reviews complained about spotty connection. Second, if we're away for long periods (vacation, etc.) we arrange for a housesitter, so the odds of us missing a leak detection are small.

Zircon wants to make customers happy
Just received product & instructions say only use battery with at least 3 yrs beyond installation date. This battery only has one year left til exp date. Very disappointed for high price. Forced to return product!UPDATED: I contacted Zircon directly before returning & they couldn’t have been more accommodating. They are sending out 5 batteries with at least a 3 yr exp. date. Once they arrive & I try product I’ll update again.

Loud and Louder and they work!
go figure. 1st day after install. leak under kitchen sink. Thing goes off and wife freaks out because I forgot to tell her I bought them and what they are. So she can't figure out how to turn it off and finally throws it on the ground to pop the battery out!. Well thats one way to turn if off. But the easy way is to just wipe the metal contacts dry and it stops right away.So good news is , they work. they are super loud. To loud according to my wife. But if they aren't loud and you can't hear them then whats the point! And the one she threw on the ground still works!.So Im sold.

Not to be confused for a smoke detector
I gave one of the detectors to a relative and it was placed next to the hot water heater. Her children started to complain that a smoke detector was beeping....upon investigation she found the water heater started to leak and activated the alarm. Works great.

Lot of Safety
I bought these to try and flood proof four rentals in condominium complexes. HOAs are getting pretty wary of flood damage by less observant owners and tenants and this is a good way to be proactive in preventing flooding. I just installed the battery, dropped them into the leak pan of the water heater and briefed the tenant on how they worked and what to do if triggered. I liked the quality of them too (I have some other tools made by Zircon). Seems that they are engineered to trigger in very little moisture and seem to be well suited for a number of different situations.

Hindsight is always 20/20 - the wonder of these little guys is that they will pay for themselves ten fold by altering you once to an issue before it happens. I have one in every bathroom vanity, near my hot water heater, neat every water supply line in my house. Supply lines crack and wear out over time and a small leak can cause thousands of dollars damage, I've learned the hard way. This altered me to a dishwasher leak at 3AM - if it did not go off I would have come home to a flooded basement. Worth the investment.

Peace of Mind
Placed these under every sink and appliance in the house. While working on the house manifold, a decent amount of water dumped onto the floor and this thing started screaming and flashing. Highly effective with even a slight amount of water. What's more, water got into the speaker area, and it continued to sound without problems. It's a robust little device which offers a great deal of peace of mind.

Perfect!
Has saved us when our shower pipe in the RV had a leak in the middle of the night. The water sensor alarm that was outside in our storage area went off and woke me up!

I couldn't ask for any more...designed for the overly cautious
Had a leak under the dishwasher...my hardwood floor had buckled beyond repair before I had noticed. I've repaired the problems now but don't every want to be uninformed again. Bought this multipack so I could put them in multiple locations...under the sink, under the dishwasher, next to the laundry tub etc etc. Now I can rest easier.

Great to detect leaks
Work as expected. Nothing to do but put them with the metal tab side down in the area where a leak can occur. The alarm is shockingly loud!

A must have, they work exactly as they should.
Works great, only three days after installation had a leak under my kitchen sink. Alarm was extremely sensitive when picking up the water and alarmed immediately. Saved me from definite property damage.
