Snow Joe Pet-Friendly Deicer Premium Ice Melt for Driveway and Sidewalk, 5 lb, MELT05PET-BOX

Very good, medium sized granules. Worked well in below 20*F temps, on layers of thick ice and some snow.I have a set of stairs (rarely used) leading to front door that is where deliveries are often made. The steps arent often used, but I wanted to clear off after having been neglected over the past week of snow, rain, ice, more ice. So I could not shovel it off as it was all too hard. I could see a thick layer of ice under the hard snow crust anyway and knew I needed to dose it with ice melt. I used the entire 5 lbs to take care of a few small portions of a set of cement/stone steps (just in case we needed to use this as an exit, or of delivery people wanted to step up towards door to drop off boxes).It immediately began to eat through all that was there. I like that the granules dont dissolve super quickly, which allows it to work longer, and keep on working for a bit of time.I have tried a few varieties of Snow Joe brand ice melt, and have been pleased with them all.This small bag came with a scoop.

Melts ice, snow well. Well worth it to protect your dogs.

Works well, but doesn't last long

I live in a condo community and moved there many yrs ago due to health issues that limit how much I can lift and also for other much needed accommodations. this year they stopped providing ice melt for individual residents. the walk way to my patio was icy and treacherous. so when I found the 5 pound box, on amazon and once it was delivered, and I could lift it, I was so happy! it works and is pet friendly too. i don't fall on the ice and neither do any visitors or delivery people too.

Melts snow and ice quickly. Small container, so you won't be using it all winter or for very large areas.

This is such an effective product and the 5lb quantity was perfect! I live rurally, so I don't have sidewalks, just a front door deck, that occasionally gets dicey in snow. I also have a small house, without a lot of storage, so I could keep this product in a plant sized container behind the front door easily!

Incredibly small box and when I used it on my driveway it did nothing. I came back over 4 hours later and the ice was still incredibly frozen and slick.

This stuff worked perfectly, but 5 lbs isn't much. I would say, for a small area (walkway, porch, maybe short driveway) this is a one time use bag. Not so bad, maybe buy several and use one each time you need salt.The important thing is that it works, and it is paw friendly.
