Will this work on newer car windows not just older models?

Windows on newer cars are quite different than on older cars. They are now made of laminated glass which is far more difficult to break even with emergency tools. The majority of these cars with laminated glass, were built within the past 5 to 10 years. In the case of an emergency where you need to get out of the vehicle, that is not a good thing. I would suggest doing what I did. I wanted to make sure the emergency tool worked, I called a couple car junkyards told them I wanted to test it and one of them said ‘no problem’. Takes a few minutes, you’ll know how to use it in case you ever have to and you have the peace of mind knowing it will work.

Will this work on home windows in case of fire?

I think it depends on what kind of windows you have. If you have the old fashioned glass windows, absolutely! But really all you need is a small hammer for your house unless you want to mount it on the wall. If you have the newer double or triple pane vinyl that supposedly don't break with a hammer, then I doubt it. But those vinyl home windows should open and come out of the sash easily for egress.

I purchased these to be attached to the car but came with no screws?? Just be aware this items comes with no screws needs to be purchases separately

Just a comment, as requested: I purchased several for family members. None of us would have planned on using screws to attach them to our vehicles. Most of us store them in the door pocket or the jockey box for easy access. I may consider having a second one for each car. If any of us wanted to attach it with a screw those are generally readily available.

Will this work when the inside of the car is also submerged in water? I think it is more difficult to do things under water
