Almost accurate to the bad batch cartoon.
I like the new head design. They made him look much older. The figure has good articulation. I wish they made the colors more wore down. Awesome figure to have for your collection.

Damaged box
Damage to the box, but otherwise a great item.

Very good
To be fair, I don't buy these for myself, but as far as a small plastic person goes, what is not to like?

Great figure with lots of new parts, but overpriced and a misleading estimated 'release date'
Pros and cons, but this is actually an excellent variant as an Amazon exclusive.Much more new sculpting and parts than you might expect, without anywhere near as much re-use as Hasbro's become accustomed to.Compared to the prior Cad Bane release: Different (removable) hat, different face/head sculpt (with his skull plate), different upper arms, different torso with new armour overlays, different belt and holsters, different legs from the thigh swivel down, even the hands might be new but I'm unsure. A lot more new work than you might expect for what might not appear as different as it is, at first. So full marks for not scrimping on the sculpting/tooling.Aesthetically: Looks really good. Cad Bane makes for an excellent figure twice now; though, as is now unfortunately common: basically almost no paint application. Almost everything is simply the colour the figure's cast in, barring the odd exception. Unlike often, though- this doesn't mean many spots feel inaccurate, more simply that this feels lacking in a bit of the weathering/washing/brushing it could benefit from- but that doesn't detract from this one like the lack of paint does on many figures of late. This is nothing like Cobb Vanth where not only was he lacking weathering he needed to avoid looking cheap, but details were literally uncoloured where they should be. So- again: Very good looking here, even if not that extra mile.Articulation's good, including butterfly joints. Obviously no 'double knees' anymore on Black Series, as is standard, but an excellent 2-part neck with independent swivel and roll. As with all of the figures with gauntlets that have tubes attatched, there's always a concern that too many bends will stretch and snap those, but they have enough length not to hinder movement. So the figure rates very highly, and is much more impressive than I expected. A success and a genuinely worthy variant. The cons:Obviously the price. These prices (£30!) are unsustainable. We all know the costs of providing everything have increased, and figures that require oil, shipping containers and fuel certainly qualify as having increased production costs; but to expect to pass all of those costs wholesale onto the customer and maintaining the profit margin Hasbro expects is absurdly short-sighted and unfeasable if they expect audiences to remain loyal. Hasbro are simply pricing out complete collectors who used to buy everything, as well as plenty of new or casual collectors. They obviously long ago abandoned appealing to children, because no parent could treat their kids to many figures at these excessive prices, which is a real shame. These figures were great at £20. At £30 they're just not satisfactory; especially as, generally, paint applications and new sculpts are reduced, alongside some often ropey plastic quality. You must have noticed the same as everybody else: That almost nothing in the action figure market sells out as it recently used to; simply because the majority of collectors have to scale back at these prices, especially in dire economic times- and once collectors have missed a certain number of releases, they no longer feel compelled to keep up with what they once did, and they become much more selective or even abandon the line, and sales significantly decrease. We've already stepped beyond that threshold and selling fewer figures at higher prices is not a viable business model for mass produced toys. So this is astonishingly overpriced and poor value, despite it's successes, and illustrative of a terrible medium to long term business strategy.Lastly: This nonsense of estimated release dates is absurdly unfriendly to customers, and makes budgeting and collecting impossible. If you're expecting something in December as advertised and as Hasbro estimates (not the fault of Amazon or any other distributor/stockist), but then it collects from your account and arrives in August- it doesn't take a great deal of intelligence to recognise most of us are being repeatedly hit by unexpected costs and charges out-of-the-blue before we can afford them. If collectors buy much, it's not an exaggeration to say that many people are facing thousands they don't expect to pay months in advance at the worst possible time economically, while Hasbro churn out more and more product. More than anything else, it's why collectors have to pause or cancel orders now, because only the most privileged can maintain a collection when hundreds of pounds are called for unexpectedly. Better everything be late than everything be early, because then at least there's been time to earn funds to cover the product. So:An excellent figure, really, but well over-priced, which makes it more disappointing than it otherwise would be; and infuriatingly not-as-advertised when it comes to a release date. The unexpectedly early release continues to make Hasbro collecting a stress that removes more and more joy from the figures, as you suddenly find money set aside for essentials is inexplicably missing from your account 4 or 5 months earlier than budgeted for. A terrible practice, really, that illustrates how out-of-touch a business can be with the general population that pays for it's existence.Sort yourselves out, please, Hasbro! You're making it harder and harder to support you, even though that's what the majority of your customers would dearly love to be able to do.
