Nice sounding and inexpensive GT-2 type pedal
Great bang for the buck clone of a Tech 21 GT-2. This pedal does not have the build quality of the GT-2 but the controls are identical and it sounds darn good (especially for the pocket change they charge). I have not done a gut-shot comparison of the two pedals so I can not comment on how close the actual circuits and components are. The TM300 is more than just a distortion box. It's more like a preamp. I find that it does a very convincing mid scooped Twin type of clean as well as a decent Marshall type growl. I find the Mesa to be the least authentic though it is not an unpleasant distortion by any means- it just doesn't sound like a Mesa imho. If you are looking for triple rec distortion there are probably better dirt boxes for that. I actually have the same criticism of my Tech 21 Tri-AC (really excellent pedal!) The TM300 works well running into an amp and because it can simulate a mic'd cab it can also be run directly into a PA or mixer and bypass the amp completely. This thing actually takes other pedals reasonably well. It can really breath new life into a mediocre practice amp (or any solid state). It can also be stowed in a bag easily enough so that you don't have to lug a backup amp to gigs. I find it much more realistic sounding than digital modelers but it doesn't quite 100% replicate the sound and touch sensativity of a tube amp being pushed (they haven't invented that yet in my opinion). It doesn't replace a tube amp for me personally but if you are contemplating running straight into the PA because lugging your amp is impractical this is a no-brainer. Five stars for what it does at this price. If you are a hobbyist or weekend warrior this pedal will cover the bases. If you make your living doing live performances (or if price is not factored into your decision making) I would advise you to pony up the extra money for the Tech 21 product because their overall build quality is much higher (with regards to the enclosure, switch, knobs, jacks), their customer service is top-shelf and they are engineered/manufactured right in NYC. I own three Tech 21 pedals and previously owned their Trademark 60 amp and I can attest to the difference in overall build quality between their products and Behringer's. Sound-wise they are very very similar though and I DO have much love for these inexpensive Behringer pedals. I own close to a dozen of them and I have not encountered a single malfunction in more than 2 years.

Great affordable alternative to the Sans Amp
I bought this as an alternative to the Sans Amp. A friend of mine has a Sans Amp, and I always liked the sounds you could get from it. I got this Behringer TM300 in hopes that the low price wouldn't mean low quality or sound. Plus, Sans Amps run around $200, even used. When I got it, it was in perfect shape, well boxed and wrapped for delivery. It IS plastic, but I don't make it a habit to stomp so hard that I may bust my boxes. I'd say if you're stomping hard enough to break this, then perhaps you should pull the reins in a tad. I think the quality is more than sufficient. My friend and I did a little test: I left the room while he played and switched between this and his Sans Amp. I then gave my guesses as to which was which. We switched out and I played while he listened. I was fairly familiar with the sounds of the Sans Amp, but it was hard to distinguish which was which. I did correctly call the differences, but they were subtle. He did the same.In my personal opinion, the TM300 is an appropriate alternative to the Sans Amp. I especially like a heavy sound and can get it to sound a lot like recorded songs from studio albums. You can get clean tones from it or a full, sustaining heavy crunch. If you're looking for sounds of death metal, I suggest you look elsewhere. All the features you'd want from a Sans Amp are on the TM300, listed the same on the dials and switches. I recommend to anyone looking for an affordable alternative to the Sans Amp.

Great effects pedal at an affordable price!
Really nice sounding pedal. It has a simple but wide spectrum of sounds. It’s a bargain at its price. The effects qualities and overdriven punch are tasty.

Incredable little pedal
First off, I am mainly a rock guitar player, but also need the spanky cleans only a tube amp can deliver, so I love this little blue box, controls are convenient, sound is A+ I use it mainly as a clean boost for solid state amps, although the overdrive models available are great too, It's great for an effect loop driver on my Tube Marshall to push reverb and delay to get the pristine airy cleans that I crave It's solid, Durable, Quiet (in a feedback sense) and Awesome, Not mention Cost effective, you'll buy 4 of these little buggers before you'll get one "better" pedal (As if) My largest gripes are these, It should be easier to switch from, Crazy Clean Beauty, to Deathly Distortion, as a real tube amp would offer me, I know this from experience, It's just a little inconvenient live, and the Infamous "Behringer Blue Light" that is bright enough to signal alien civilizations.Pro'sCheapGood SoundEasy to UseDurable (dropped once from 12 feet onto solid concrete, still works great)Con'sHard to Switch from Clean to Dirty while gigging (perhaps a second pedal would fix this ;))Blue light is Blinding and Clinically proven to Cause Night Blindness, I jk of course but still, could be toned down a littleAll in all this little machine tacks an amp from flat and boring to alive and kicking, great for a headroom boost, and to be honest, I never turn this thing off, if it ever broke, highly unlike but possible, I would buy another, maybe two, then I would bury the old one, with a twenty-one gun salute

Nice all around modeler
I primarily bought it to have the Tweed modeler for my Strat. The sounds with the mic positions is very close to the original.Quiet when it needs to be, hot settings give you the buzz you'd expect from a tube amp.Good cleans , great for blues, and reactive to your playing. After watching a YouTube video, I tried it with my bass, and it works surprisingly good as well! It's my new DI at church running my Amer Pro II P Bass. Great bang for your buck pedal.
