Great TV at an Affordable Price Point
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Been a fan of Sony TV's ever since I sold them back in 2006 at Circuit City. It was really not much of a contest except for maybe the 2 other major brands when seeing them side by side every day and comparing specs. They were always the better TV (in my opinion) and in most ways I believe that hasn't changed much to this day. This TV price wise and feature wise was exactly what I was looking for at the time. I ended up getting it on sale and it exceeded all my expectations!Great picture quality, good enough brightness to have HDR and not absolutely blind you (most of the time). The hardware that runs the operating system is quick and responsive. It's no I9 cpu or anything but a lot better than most Smart TV's I've used in the past.Sound is good for a TV as well, before I needed a sound bar with my generic TV that replaced this one but this one actually gets loud. Great connectivity, plenty of spots to plug in all your other video / audio hardware in the back.

Very good picture for the price range.
As the title infers, this set has a very bright picture. It is so bright that I had to choose the standard mode vs. the vivid mode for the picture. The brightness of the picture is fairly universal from center to edge with no visually discernible loss. Viewing angle is somewhat limited for best picture quality. The sound is just ok. The item comes well-packaged with emphasis on protecting the screen much better than previous TV sets I have purchased. Set up was rather easy. I would caution purchasers that the set arrives with a piece of cardboard taped over the LCD screen. I cut the tape holding the cardboard but subsequently learned that the remaining portion of the tape used to affix the screen-protecting cardboard came back to bite me. Initially, I noticed that the set would not power on with the remote. There's a power button located on the bottom edge, so I used that to power on. I was able to complete the entire setup with the manufacturer's remote but when I tried to pair our cable remote to the set, it would not pair. The manufacturer's remote and the DVR remote performed every function but powering the set on and off. Ultimately, we discovered that the previously mentioned tape used to hold the screen-protecting cardboard, combined with the protective plastic on the lower bezel from the manufacturer, was interfering with the on/off signal to the set. Unless you know it is there, you may not notice the plastic covering on the bezel at the bottom. And, unless you physically remove the tape that holds the protective cardboard for the screen vs. cutting it, you may experience a similar issue. Once we removed the tape and the protective plastic from the bottom bezel, we were able to pair the DVR remote and both remotes now function as advertised. I think it would be beneficial if Sony warned consumers about this. I was ready to send the set back. I'm glad we were able to resolve the issue and thus far, I am pleased with the purchase. I hope it is durable and can provide many years of viewing pleasure. Just as a point of caution, we replaced an exact same size set with this one, however; the previous set had a center pedestal to facilitate installation on the existing TV stand we owned. The Bravia TV uses legs on either side of the set to facilitate that same purpose. Purchasers should note the width of the supporting legs. We learned that they were 1/2" wider than our existing stand and had to purchase a stand to accommodate the new set. The Sony Bravia includes hardware for wall mounting but you would have to purchase the wall mount separately. Good luck.

Very good picture and many ways to customize the tv.
It's a heavy tv which means it's packed with quality. The picture is perfect once you fine tune the colors and other settings. The screen size is perfect for my bedroom. I have dolby atmos 5.1.2 vizio sound system connected to it so i can't comment on the speakers of the tv. I only use my 5.1 surround sound system with tv. This tv is so feature rich that i didn't have the need to connect my fire tv stick to it. Thanks to the android system built into tv, i was able to download my tv/movie streaming app which my not be legal in usa. I don't live in usa so i can download any app that i want. I love watching this tv so much that i stay up late at night to watch my netflix and the next day i am sleepy at work. I have had samsung tvs in the past and almost all samsung tvs didn't last long. My last samsung 70 inch tv didn't even last 2 years and the screen failed. The other samsung 55 inch tv, the wifi board burnt out right after warranty was expired ( one year). Then i have a sony old tv that is still working like a champ after 13 years of daily use. My son's 32 inch samsung tv had led problems after 13 months of use. Thanks god i was able to get it repaired . New led strip lights were installed inside. So you can see that i am done with samsung. I hope this sony tv will last a few years more than my samsung tvs.Update september 2024:I have found a very annoying bug with the sony tv android system or maybe the netflex app itself. Everyday my netflex app doesn't load and i get errors that points to network problems. The youtube and other streaming apps work just fine but netflex app always gets stuck on network error code. The solution is: i have to go to setting, then apps and then i have to forcefully stop netflex app, then i have to delete the cache and then restart the app. This happens every time i turn on the tv. I have firetv stick on hdmi port and netflix on firestick is always working. So i hope an update to netflix app or maybe an update to sony tv android system will fix this error.
