does it cost much to run per hour

I have had mine for a few days and run it through a plug-in power meter. There are slow variations but the average consumption has been 12 watts per hour which is just under 0.3kw per 24hr period. On my electricity tariff that translates as about 22p per week if run 24/7. I hope that helps:)

You also may not have as much damp as you thought.. that’s worth consideration too. Just means you don’t have to empty it constantly! That amount sounds perfectly reasonable to me. I suppose the more it works the less damp there’ll be, so eventually it won’t need emptying as much and will justify itself to be the godsend gem that it’s proved itself to be, imho

I have used it in a 140 sq feet room for about 15 hours and the tank has very little water. Humidity is at 70%. Should I wait or buy a bigger unit?

Yes. My house is only 50 square meters, and the humidity has always been 80%. It has no effect at all. I bought a newentor 25L dehumidifier, and the humidity is now 45%.

Will this dehumidifier work for a large room?

Do not! It can't even remove the condensation water from the bedroom windows. If your room is larger, I recommend you to buy a newentor, I put it in the living room, it can also remove the humidity of the other 2 bedrooms, and it takes less than 4p an hour.
