Really excellent pump, easy to use and the storage/carry bag is a great addition
I have had a Ring RAC750 for a couple of years and never been completely happy with it, I had assumed being mains powered it would be powerful and quick, but it wasn't. This year it has stopped working, I can hear an air-leak inside, but I could not figure out how to open it to access the internals. So, I decided to buy a new compressor. I was a bit dubious about a compressor powered off the car battery, but I need not have been.First impressions are that this RAC900 is a well made piece of equipment, presented in a really useful carry bag. I like especially that there are 2 compartments allowing to keep the hose separate from the compressor itself, and the smaller size of the compartment for the hose will help keep it tidy and untangled. One small but excellent improvement/addition would be a small pocket for the adaptors. The fitting to the tyre valve screws-on, which is very secure. am happy it does not use one of the fiddly fittings with a plastic lever to lock it in place (or let it fall off part way through, or wear out and stop locking).I had a car tyre that had deflated to less than 1 bar and it was pressured up to 2.2 bars in around 90 seconds using the RAC900. I am happy with the accuracy of the pressure gauge, I checked the reading against 2 hand-held gauges that I have, one dial gauge and one LCD electronic gauge. All readings agree.Once the air-hose is screwed onto the tyre valve, you can inflate and deflate the tyre without removing the fitting. Just stop the pump to check the tyre pressure reading. The instructions are very easy to follow. The power lead, and air hose are both well long enough to make using this compressor very straightforward and convenient. All round it is a well thought out piece of equipment, which is not always the case from any/all manufacturers.I highly recommend this pump. The RAC900 is almost everything the RAC750 isn't, and is well worth the additional cost.Edit: 4 Oct 2018...used this for around a month, and it is superb, I am VERY happy with it. I had a leaking tyre and this was handy to keep it topped up. I then deflated my tyres completely and added a chemical to each to seal small punctures (Goop - available on Amazon). Inflating each tyre from completely empty was a doddle. The carry case sits in the boot of my car, taking up little space and keeping everything handy, and tidy. I cannot recommend it highly enough.EDIT_ Feb 2019: still using this compressor. It is excellent and so much more convenient than trying to find a garage with a working airline, or then needing the correct coins.EDIT_May 2020: still using this, it lives in the boot of my car, a great piece of kit.

Spend More Money Than Usual......
....on a compressor, and this is the one you should spend it on!I bought this after reading reviews on a few sites, not just on here. Nearly all said that this is an excellent piece of kit, and they were right.I bought this compressor because, as a caravan owner, I regularly need to inflate my car tyres at home and on site. I was fed up with paying £20 or more for 'top of the range' foot pumps, and having all of them wear out in no more than 18 months. So, add that up and it probably comes to more than I paid for this one.The compressor comes in a very useful bag, and the kit is lighter, smaller and quieter than I imagined. It inflates my tyres from around 30psi to 47 psi in about 2 1/2 minutes. Very quick and easy compared to anything else I have used at home. The couplings are all good quality and everything seems geared to professional use. The valve attachment is a screw thread, so you don't have to wait at the tyre when inflating. It can also be used to deflate as well. Check that you can access your battery easily because the unit cannot be plugged in to a lighter plug.I am very pleased with this kit. Only time will tell though........I rated it as four stars because I have only owned it for a short while.16/09/2012 I have changed the rating to five stars now. I have been using this for six months, and it is a quality product. Light enough to take away on caravanning holidays and certainly up to the job I bought it for.

Just the business
Tyres on motohomes on full load are often recommended to be inflated to 80psi but very few domestic tyre inflation compressors can perform to that pressure. If they can they are likely to take an age to inflate the tyres. Experience has also shown that many petrol stations don't provide facilities to inflate tyres to pressures above 50psi. When my local Asda let me down in this respect (when upgraded equipment was installed) I knew that I had to look for a competent domestic compressor to do the job for me.Like everyone else who has written a review here I searched the Internet for reviews and information and there seemed to be one candidate for the job - the Ring Automotive RAC900 Heavy Duty Air Compressor and Accessories Inc Storage Bag. I duly ordered one from Amazon and it was delivered the next day. With excited anticipation I tried my new compressor on my Michelin X 215/70R15CP tyres on my motorhome. I generally run them at 65psi all round as I feel that that provides an optimum ride. The compressor was quiet and it inflated the tyres effortlessly and quickly except that when I switched tyres, on two occasions, the compressor failed to come on until I replaced its fuse.I immediately sent an email to Ring Automotive support services to ask if this situation suggested an electrical fault in the compressor and should I return it to Amazon. Next day I was given an unequivocal response to return the product to Amazon. Full marks to Ring Automotive for the prompt response.Full marks also to Amazon for the trouble free manner in which the returns process was managed. A new Ring Automotive RAC900 Heavy Duty Air Compressor and Accessories Inc Storage Bag was delivered to me the very next day.I have now tried the replacement and all seems to be working well. Fast inflation, not too noisy, compact unit in storage bag. Looks like this has solved my motorhome tyre inflation issue. On reading other reviews you will note that individuals have remarked about the lack of an on/off switch at the tyre inflation point. The solution is simple. Over-inflate by a bit then switch off the compressor. Reduce the pressure in the tyre using the facility provided at the tyre inflation point. As recommended this also provides a more accurate reading since the compressor is off.
