It's a nice tasting soup. Good for a quick meal. Tastes almost homemade.

My favorite flavor, but sometimes strange bits in the mix
Chicken and Sausage Gumbo is my favorite flavor combination of the Chunky soups. I keep a case of it at work for when I need a quick meal. Amazon has the best price on it. Should be a no-brainer then, but I have resisted the "subscibe" delivery because lately (last two cases of 8) at least two of the cans have some weirdness that looks sketchy (like the celery especially - sometimes goopy-stringy, like potentially rotten BEFORE it went in) and once I was pretty sure there was a small piece of plastic film in there. I'm under no illusions about pre-packaged food (or even take out food) being super pure and safe, but the plastic threw me a bit. To the point where I am wary rather than enthusiastic about the product. I can't say that any of it has made me sick, but mentally it sure does keep me from giving 5 stars. I expect better quality control from a brand like Campbell's.

flavorful, nice addition to pantry, adds flavor & texture when paired with rice/pasta
Great pantry item. Eat as is, add to it, or use over something else. Just adds nice variety to times when convenience or emergency calls for it.This is for the 16.1 ounce cans. There are still 18 ounces can out there. Currently the price per ounce is the same. So yes, shrink-flation on one hand, but the price per ounce is so far the same. Shop wisely.I was able to get mine on sale which really brought down the price. I dont eat canned soups often, but I do buy foods of various sorts when on sale to help boost my pantry. If for some reason I couldnt buy food for a few months, then I am set. Having a variety in taste and texture is important. Canned goods last nearly forever no matter what the best by date says (only a guarantee of freshness and flavor, does not have anything to do with safety). So look for sales and stock up when you can, as you can.

Spicy sledgehammer
I generally like spicy food. I guess I prefer some amount of finesse to a sledgehammer approach. This soup is the latter. The hotness covers up any taste and is just slammed all over, reducing the soup to a regretful purchase. Oh well.
