can it be used to lift a piano ? we recently purchased new vinyl flooring and wish we would have put coasters under the piano ?

Did you not read any of the other answers. These are crap. They made of plastic and have very little lifting power.

Does it have control coming down? So that I can do it slowly before it break my fish tank .

In my case I had a heavy dresser which I wanted lower rather than drop. Not knowing the ability of this tool to gradually lower the load, I positioned a spacer between the bottom of the floor and the bottom of the dresser to absorb any sudden hard impact from the load bottoming out and damaging the dresser. I would suggest that one can place spacers between the fish tank and the final landing place. This way one can avoid a mishap by having the fish tank land hard.

Is this tool only for men?

A whole lot of ads for same and similar items SHOW CASE women as the main users. So of course WE can. However I do have smaller hands and weak wrists due to arthritis and so was in search today of which of these tools sold out of all the similar ones on Amazon might fit my hand size best. So with having said that I'm looking at the videos some of these post. Might check out Youtube too before choosing my final pair. Some are sold individual but I see the value instantly with having a pair. Go for it and note there are hacks lile pipes that might fit over the handles to help pump the items to work around weaker or small hands. I'm 5' tall been caving/climbing/sking/hiking/biking and tent camping solo for over 50 years. I'm now in my early 70's. Hubby is approaching 85 & I'm doing as much or more than ever with tools. I do however know my limits too. More you gain experience the more you'll gain perspective of what you can do on your own and as a partner in crimes of doing too. Often some tasks require two people....life is an adventure...choose to take it please.

Is any of this plastic or is it 100% all metal?

100% metal. I’ve used them to lift heavy objects and they work well. Very satisfied with the purchase and build quality.
