I’ve been using the BRITA Marella Water Filter Jug (Graphite) for a few weeks now, and honestly, I wish I’d bought it sooner. Living in a hard water area, I’d gotten used to that faint metallic tang in my tea — but no more! The difference in taste is immediately noticeable, and my kettle is no longer furred up with limescale after two uses.I love the sleek graphite colour — it looks much nicer than the usual white jugs and actually matches my kitchen appliances. My tap water's been tasting very strange of late - metallic, 'fusty', generally unpleasant. My water company insist there's nothing wrong with it, which may well be, but it tastes foul.Desperate, I bought this. I didn't hold out much hope but, blow me down, my tap water tastes... Of nothing. Just pure, clear, fresh and lovely. If something that tastes of nothing can taste lovely. If you see what I mean.Having lovely, cool fresh water on hand has been a game-changer. I bought a Stanley water bottle which keeps it cool and I'm now a champion glugger, two litres a day easily. Coffee from my pod machine tastes better and has a lovely long-lasting crema, too.One of the best things I've bought this year, definitely.

Bought this Brita water jug for my daughter to use in her university accommodation, and it’s been super useful. Having tried other brands side by side with BRITA I can say that for cold water filtering using the latest Maxtra Pro filters no other filter subjectively compares in terms of flavour and being ready to drink on the first pour. Previous generations of the BRITA filter range would invariably require at least 3 non-drinkable carbon heavy fills which whilst are ok for watering plants is not especially great to drink. The latest generation of filters are ready to go.In terms of particles remaining in the water, I have a water "Total Dissolved Solids" tester that records a higher reading for the BRITA than for multi stage alternative filters, however in terms of an overall rating I would place BRITA higher given the water tastes more like a high end bottled water and not of carbon.I purchased tow filters ar the time, one for my own use and another for my daughter and at the time of review I felt they represented above average value for money. The additional benefit is less plastic waste - if you enjoy bottled water this is a great alternative.A couple of tips:------------------The jugs can be stored on your windowsill in direct sunlight preferably as UV will help to keep the jug sterile.If you are partly through the month cycle and are going to not use the filter for a while, you can remove it and put it into the freezer to prevent bacterial growth until the next usage.Overall I love the jug. The capacity is more than adequate for my needs, and the filters overall provide the best flavour of any others I have used.
