Finally found a durable one!
Love this cable. The transmission speed is seamless and extremely fast. I would love to have had a storage case or sleeve, but the velcro strap works fine. Not sure on the longevity, but this seems to be really well-made adapter.

What you need to know to get it working
I'm not sure why this isn't posted right at the top with these items or included in a card with the item, but these cables work well if you do the following. You can search google/youtube for details if needed, but all I needed was to be pointed in the right direction. The cables need a specific IP configuration in some cases. For windows, you can force the Autoconfig IP settings using these settings on the ethernet port. Note that some of the ethernet dongles seem to time out of the network settings, perhaps as power savings, which is a pain:- "Static IP" (NOT DHCP)- "Ip Address" (169.254.250.250)- "Subnet Mask" (255.255.0.0)For Android 12/13 turn on Ethernet tethering and you're good to go for Bimmerlink, Bimmercode, Bimmer-tool etc. Hope this helps!

Worked perfectly with my 2018 BMW X1
Needed to update maps on my 2018 BMW X1. The update procedure wanted to do some recoding using a laptop host. Turns out the standard way to do this is with a cable that connects to the diagnostic plug under the dash, and it can access the car's internals through an Ethernet interface. Worked flawlessly to add the map code so that the car would take the map update data from a USB drive.
