Now that we found Hitster, we have two games we can get everyone to agree on and know we all will enjoy it.Because it is a music game, you will need a smartphone or tablet with an Internet connection, it is a requirement for the game. Once you are playing, you have several different ways to play. Our favorite is timeline where you play the song and guess what year it was released. If you can guess the name of the song and the artist, you win a token which you can trade in for a new point.The game comes with songs from Big Band to Jazz to Hip Hop and years that range from 1920s to 2020 so it really is fun for all ages and all tastes. It has expansion packs available, but we haven't tried those yet.

We had a blast playing this game with family, young and old. Hipster app or Spotify is required, so wi-fi is needed. The music brought back old memories and challenges to determine what year the song was originally released. Even the younger kids joined in, since there are game also has current music.

The concept behind this game could not be simpler. You start with a single card in front of you with a date on in. Next, you scan the top card of the deck in the Hitster App, and it starts to play a song. Now, you guess did the song playing come out before or after the year on your starting card. Put the card in the spot corresponding to your guess, flip the card, and celebrate being right or commiserate in being wrong. Next time around, your timeline is a bit more complicated but the gist stays the same. Find the spot in your timeline the new song fits. This game has worked well for my family and friends and covers a good variety of musical genres. Only issue is I wish there were a physical rulebook not just a digital one in the App so if you play more advanced variants you can quickly reference the manual.This is a great game for all ages and can expose you to your old favorite songs or one hit wonders you may have forgotten. Bought this based on the great reviews and have played it in a group setting as well as two player. The genres are all over the place, music from every generation. It's SO MUCH FUN. I'm wanting them to have an expansion pack immediately. You do need a Spotify account to make it work.

Very good for light board gamers and music enthusiasts

A variety of genres and years. A little light on country music if that’s your wheelhouse. Great for groups of varying age groups. Easy to modify the rules to keep the competition fun.

Great for all ages! Our family got together and played and our ages ranged from 13 to 60. Everybody enjoyed it and there was lots of singing along.

This is a fun game as you order the music you hear on a timeline. You get bonuses for knowing titles and artist but can win if you are not good at that. Very good interface with phone to play the music. So easy to use. And, it is fun!
