Vibrant, stylish and great value.
I purchased these pencils to complement other pencils I own. I have oil based pencils so was looking for wax based ones that have bright vibrant colours, are easy to use and are affordable. These fit the job perfectly. They come in a tin which is sturdy and easy to open, it feels though storing pencils in the tin long term with lots of use will not be an issue. The designs on the tin are fun yet simple and elegant. The pencils themselves have a black barrel with the brand, number and pencil name written in red. There is also a stamp of a spider on the pencil to indicate the set it came from. The pencils look stylish and have a mixture of traditional names and some more fun and funky ones too such as Tarantula and Fang Green. There is even a colour swatch on the inside of the tin lid to identify the colour and pencil name. The only downside is that with the barrel being all back you have to look at the name or pencil lead to identify the colour, where as other pencils often have the barrel in the pencil colour or at least a dipped end for identification. Although, in this case I think that would ruin the look of the pencils. As I plan to store these, in time, in order in a pencil roll like my others, I don't anticipate identification being an issue. The very end of the pencil is dipped too meaning that you can not see the lead showing. This is great as other pencils I've used in the past, have had the lead work free at that end and this won't happen with the black widows. The retailer that sold these pencils, distributed the pencils quickly. The arrived in super quick time, well packaged and pristine with no damage. I had no issues or problems so had no need to return or contact customer service so am unable to review on that side of things. In conclusion, I'm over the moon with these pencils. They are fantastic pencils, lovely vibrant colours that look great, feel great and are brilliant to use. I have already purchased the Cobra set and plan to also buy the Scorpions, Skin ranges and hopefully the Monarch set too and will be using the same retailer where possible. They are absolutely great value for money and at this price point I feel they are the best on the market.Happy Colouring!

The tin is very nice, and I do like the black finish on the wood. Colours are nice, well pigmented and go down onto paper without having to exert a lot of pressure. You can't put down more than a few layers, so if you like layering a lot of colours this might not be for you, but what you can put down blends quite well, and I find it enough to work around. There's no duplicates between the 3 sets, so it's a good way to build up a varied set of good quality colours, without splashing out for a massive set at once. Each pencil has the name of the colour (this is somewhere near the centre, then the number (this goes in colour order including all the 3 sets), then it has the name of the set, and the set symbol (this is quite close to the end of the pencil, it will be quite the tiny nub before you sharpen this away. You be needing a pencil holder by the time you get to the number to.) So while picking out each colour might become tricky as you sharpen them down, you will be able to sort them by colour/number, or by set for most of the life of the pencil. Just as an aside each sets lettering is in a different tint. This cobra set is gold, and scorpion is silver. You will need to swatch the colours, it's hard to even guess what some of the colours are just looking at the tip. There's some swatches on the inside of the lid, they are a good starting point but not entirely accurate. This is hardly just an issue with this set though, and not even just with colouring pencils in general. I suppose it's just an extra process to look on the tin instead of the pencils casing.I suppose I have a fair amount of little nit picks here, or considerations. But the most important part is they are pigmented, bend well, and you wont have to hurt your hand to use them even over a long colouring session.

I am new to adult colouring books and what not but did some quick research and found out that that’s what these pencils are designed around.Very comfortable to use, they look stunning and the tin they come in is of good quality. And they seem to put down some lovely colours. Very happy with them.

Great quality for the price.
I will say these are excellent for the price and customer service is fantastic I wrote a review stating I had 2 of the same colours and was immediately sent the right colour pencil out so thank you. The pencils blend beautifully and keep that nice sharp edge very pleased will be buying the other sets also.

Best value for money artist pencils on the market
Black Widow have become my favourite go-to colouring pencils. They are affordable, beautiful to lay down rich pigment and versatile on many paper types. This set is a wonderful starter set, but be advised it does not go much further than primaries and the most useful shades. The complete BW collection is broken into quite a few sets, and as they are not sold as individual pencils; be prepared to spend the same amount approximately five times to complete the options (at time of writing, one set - Cobra -is also perpetually out of stock). With that said, they are a beautifully balanced pencil, with attractive black barrels, clear lettering of names and most importantly; the colour of the dipped tip matches the pigment of the lead perfectly. Easily and highly recommended.
