Needed this Years Ago - Easy Enough for Senior Citizens to Use
These Mifi 8800L is the best thing since sliced bread. I travel all the time, so work from various locations and this little baby takes care of all my internet connection needs. It is so much faster than my phone hotspot, for whatever reason.I have a Verizon phone, so it only took minutes to add it to my plan and I was up and running. (I took mine into a Verizon store to connect but you can probably connect online with a Verizon account)Since getting it about a week ago from Amazon, I have had zero down time from lack of connection and have been able to increase my productivity considerably. It always displays how many devices are connected to it (where it says Primary - 2, those are my 2 devices, and if I touch the screen, I can see which devices) and also has the option to allow a guest to connect (you set the password) or block a device from connecting. It shows you how much data you have used and how many days are left in your data cycle as well, so you can stay on top of your usage.I am 64 years old and not technically oriented, but this device is so user friendly, I really did not even need the instructions to start using it. Highly recommend including for other Senior Citizens! The device is small so it is easy to store and carry. The battery lasts all day and evening for me. It is so superior to using unknown hotel and public wifi, there is not even a comparison. Much, much safer.

Do you have time to waste?
Do you have time to waste? Would you like to spend hours of your life being redirected to someone who will mess up your account, then redirect you to someone who has no idea how to help? Add in directions that don't work, and many broken links that. And if you are fortunate like me, you will be signed up to a random phone number that's not related to you and will add another hour or so to the poorly designed process. And, the icing on the cake: they sent antennas that don’t fit the device. That being said, after a disappointing setup process, and antenna that can’t attach, it actually works.

Works good but!
You better keep up with the original charger and cord because it does not charge well with other chargers.

Almost indestructible! The 'Timex' of Hotspots.
I've had one of these for over 5 years. My old one still works and got me through 5 yrs of college. My old one 'got a cracked screen' a couple years ago but I just stuck a screen saver film over it and kept it moving. My fault for the cracked screen. -don't ask. I'm actually surprised it didn't crack soon with what it's been through. Lol! My old one 'took a fall' a couple months ago and the back came off and one of the tabs that holds the back on broke off so I just taped the back on to keep the battery from falling out and it still worked. The screen had become very hard to see through the scratches on the screen saver and the cracked glass but if I just pushed hard on the touch screen everything still worked fine. I went to a home wifi, finally, but saw this on Amazon and thought, "Ya know, it's a tough little cookie. Wouldn't hurt to have another one for back up. It has 2.5 ghz and 5 ghz options - and that's become rare, and will get rarer. So, yeah, definetly recommend. It's well worth the money and has more than paid for itself many times over. I think I paid $199.00 for the first one I bought directly from Verizon. -And it didn't even come with the antennas and other accessories this one did! I HIGHLY recommend this unit.

Best Verizon Hotspot
This is a great little Hotspot for back up or camping. Works on Verizon 4 G network. Make sure you take a screen shot of your SIM card before you try and activate it. You * must * have a Verizon Data plan for this to work. When you internet fails this works perfect. 5 star all the way.

No instructions
This has been a real challenge, not only to put it together correctly but to set it up. I needed help from my mobile carrier and that’s when I found out I installed the SIM card the wrong way. But there’s no instructions. The admin website is not helpful either because text is cut off in places. Can I connect my phone to the MiFi? Yes, it works. However I cannot charge the batteries. I tried another cord and the device says it’s charging but the percentage keeps dropping. I’m hoping to find a forum for help with the charging situation.Edit: on day two, I discovered that the batteries are not charging! This is a new, not refurbished item, with the original cord and charger. Whenever I try to charge it the “MiFi” logo comes on once in a while but it will not charge even being plugged overnight.DO. NOT. BUY!!
