Split King Size Leggett & Platt S-Cape Adjustable Beds

Update 02/26/16. All I can say is WOW! The difference this bed has made in my life is amazing!! By raising the bottom section to the max height it helps to relieve my lower back issues. Simply raising the top makes a huge difference when I start to feel a cold coming on. I guess it helps with the sinus drainage while I sleep? I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an adjustable bed!Arrived early! Will update the review after we set it up this weekend and spend some time using it. Purchased it due to severe lower back issues (surgery, injections, etc.) Hoping the ability to change my position while sleeping will allow me to sleep in the bed and not in my chair!I cannot explain how easy this was! There is a video on YouTube detailing the setup. It took longer to watch the video (5 minutes) than it did to actually set it up. The Beds fit perfectly inside my existing bed frame. You cannot tell that there is anything special about the bed until you see the remote. I have serious lower back issues which injections and surgery have been unable to fix. My nightly routine usually involves waking up at 1 or 2 AM and then sleeping sitting up in my chair in the living room. The first night we slept on our almost 3 year old memory foam mattress and the sleep was incredible! I adjusted the head up a few inches, but elevated my feet about 1.5 feet above my body. WOW!!! I slept better than I have in years! The second night we slept with brand new top of the line Tempur Pedic mattresses we bought the day before. All I can say is that the $2000 I spent on the S-Cape was the best money I have ever spent! Between the S-Cape and the Tempur Pedic I feel like I did in my twenties (47 now). I will try to update this as we continue to live with our new sleep setup. Since you spend 1/3 of your life sleeping, invest the money in sleeping well!! My review is based on my experiences in the last two weeks. The customer service at Leggett & Platt is horrendous and the quality of their product is questionable. I bought a full size adjustable bed because I needed one during my recovery from a major surgery. After I came home from the hospital and used it once, the remote control broke and the bed no longer adjusted. I called the store from where I purchased the bed and was told to contact Leggett & Platt directly. After I called, a Leggett & Platt employee came to my house to retrieve the broken remote, but did not provide me with a new remote control, thus rendering the adjustable component of the bed useless. Rather than shipping it via priority or another fast shipping method, Leggett & Platt made me wait eight days post-surgery for a working remote. I was recovering and this was the period that I most needed the full use of an adjustable bed. Finally a Leggett & Platt employee personally delivered a working remote, at which point my need had decreased considerably. Why didn't they bring me a replacement remote as soon as they took my broken remote?During the eight days of waiting, I contacted Leggett & Platt to follow up on the remote. The Leggett & Platt customer service representatives behaved angrily and aggressively (rather than compassionately) towards me at a time when I was weak from surgery, even after I told them each time that I was recovering. When I asked to speak to the customer service manager, I was told that the manager was busy in a meeting. The Leggett & Platt representative also did not offer and refused to relay my message to the manager so that I would get a call back. I was also told to voice my concerns to the store where I purchased the bed, which was obviously not the appropriate course of action.

My wife and I have a lot of neck and back pain so we wanted the bed in order to sit up and read along with watch TV. We also usually sit in bed every morning and talk for an hour before starting our day. That being said, we are not fans of the adjustable bed. Our headboard and footboard do not fit with the new base and no matter what position we adjust to we are in pain and can't get comfortable. We were more comfortable propping pillows up and sitting with those. The only way to get relief is to prop ourselves up with pillows again which makes the base pointless. Although the base says that it has wall hugging technology so you don't lose your nightstand when lifting the head of the bed, you totally lose the night stand and have to painfully twist in order to reach back to get anything off the nightstand. On top of all this, Amazon has a return policy of total satisfaction but the company will not take any returns unless it is a mattress that you purchased from them. Needless to say, we are out almost $2,000 and are now more uncomfortable than before purchasing the adjustable base. Not really happy with it at all.
