Excellent mount in every way.
I purchased these to put a target scope on a R700 rifle that will be primarily used for bench shooting. I wanted a picatinny base but didn't want to cover the ejection port with a long rail. These two piece mounts allow me MUCH more access to the breech area for single loading rounds. I can even reach and see into the breech from the left. They accepted my wide profile (3 screw, Monstrum precision) picatinny rings with room to spare too. I think I'll use these on all my future rifles going forward.

Fit my Weatherby Vanguard 243 SA
Needed to adapt for a scope mount and this fit my Weatherby Vanguard 243 SA perfectly. Front and back of for and aft pieces line up perfectly with the bolt opening (is that what the opening is called??).

Great Picatinny Style Base ...
I bought this base to mount on my short action Remington 700 (also works for long action). I have TPS 30mm rings, and they would not fit on my Weaver bases. Turns out the TPS rings are true Picatinny mounts. Picatinny slots are a little wider and deeper than Weaver slots ... Weaver rings will work on both Weaver and Picatinny bases, but Picatinny rings will not work on Weaver bases. This Burris 2-piece base is DEFINITELY a Mil-spec Picatinny profile. I was wanting the lowest mount possible, and I don't care for the full length rails. These fit the bill perfectly. High quality machining and nice finish. I highly recommend them. NOTE: I was confused by the answers in the Questions section where some responders said they were not Picatinny rails. The Burris website says they are, so I went ahead and bought them. The SLOTS of these bases ARE the true Mil-spec Picatinny profile; HOWEVER, they do not have the mil-spec Picatinny slot spacing. If you need the multi-slot alignment of a Picatinny rail, you need to get a full rail, not a 2-piece. If like me you just need the slot profile, but the spacing can vary, these will work. Hope this helps.

The Ticket.
Excellent base, especially for the price. I use these for through bolted or lever style rings. A solid platform to work with. I have never has a problem with fit, alignment or finish. Repeat zero when removed and replaced scopes.

Works, but not quite right
I bought this rail for a Savage bolt action .22LR. I did some research before buying this product and I saw several sites that said this would fit. I could get the short side to fit fine, but the long rail I can only get one screw to secure. No worries, put together it holds my scope steady with no issues or need to tighten up after hundreds of rounds. It isn't perfect but it works well enough.

Loose screws!!!
Mount looks fine. The problem is that the mounting screws got lost somewhere in shipment due to poor packaging and now I have to source some screws to use the mount.

Nice bases for the price
I got this base set for my Weatherby Vanguard S2 and am very pleased with it. When I shot the rifle in, it was shooting very low, but it seems from what I've read that the Remington 700 and Weatherby Vanguard take pretty much identical bases, but there's a very slight height difference (a few thousandths of an inch) in the mounting area of the rear receiver between the two guns. I was able to use the scopes adjustments to get it right on target though. I think the bases seem well made for the price. I like that they are steel and that the multiple slots gives you more mounting flexibility.
