Fair replacement part.
Not every factory replacement part is perfect. Being a stamped part is an issue. The slot on the part was slightly smaller than the transmission shifter shaft. A very small file fixed the issue.

Did not fit my 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD Duramax diesel I put the tie wire back on still runs to this day and shifts just fine LOL

I had to modify the part
Even after installing this part, the selector cable was falling off of the 'nipple'. Our solution was to break off the nipple, drill out a hole and put a bolt thru the hole. We then were able to bolt the cable onto this part... like GM should have done in the first place.
