DonMatteo 50 Milk Latte Dolce Gusto Compatible Coffee Capsules (50 Pods 50 Servings)

Delighted with these.Was looking for a pure milk capsule, with no added sugar, emulsifiers etc.versatile enough for everyone to do their own favourite.Saw these were 100% skimmed milk so I wasn't sure how they would foam without emulsifiers, Even in cheapie manual machine, they foam beautifully, the texture and taste is much 'creamier' than I expected from skimmed milk (bonus !). Because there is no added sugar the taste of your chosen coffee comes through properly. Because there are no chemicals in the milk just make sure you shake the capsule before use to avoid 'clumping'. Don't know how well they 'keep' but not a problem for us..... they get used very quickly!Plenty in the capsule for all the family's different drink and excellent value.Just a rider to comment on first batch...I ordered another box a week later and in this box two of the capsule film lids had split and there was milk powder everywhere....needed a good dust down with a paint brush but no big deal.However a bit more of a concern was that this batch of capsules were rather 'erratic' in the way they performed in the machine......the powder in quite a number of them 'clumped' so kids needed two even in a small drink, and several really gave the machine the full pebble-dashing spatter treatment..... even after a really good service, descale and cleanNone of this happened with the first batch......i know they have no emusifiers etc so I was careful with both batches to makes sure that the capsules had a shake to make sure the contents hadn't settled, they weren't damp or left in the sun......the only thing I can think is that these being chemical free may have a short shelf life.All that said I really like them, chemical free, no sweetners or sugars added, and just low fat milk, good size which is very adaptable and useful for families (one shared between ma & pa, and the kids use one each for a more milky drink).And I did say keep them a secret.........blast it they've sold out!

I was searching for milk pods for my Dolce Gusto Mini Me machine and after checking out reviews and comparing different brands i decided on the 'DonMatteo 50 Milk Latte Dolce Gusto Compatible Coffee Capsules'.I was skeptical at first as i saw some reviews mentioning the pods not fitting Dolce Gusto machines or pod not piercing properly and hot water squirting out all over the place, i have used 10 pods so far and am pleased to say i have not had any of these issues, i will of course update this review if that changes. I just give the pod a shake/tap before placing in machine but i also do this with the branded dolce gusto pods also.I find 5/6 bars on my dolce gusto mini me makes a lovely milky drink with a nice frothy top, anything higher i find it becomes too weak, I personally use 5 bars and if i want anymore i just use a second pod, as you get 50 in a box i don't mind using a second pod if needed, it depends on how big you're cup/mug is and you're own personal taste preference.I use these milk pods to make my own horlicks, hot chocolate drinks as works out not only cheaper but find it tastes better than for example the branded horlicks dolce pods, i just buy hot chocolate cocoa powder, horlicks powder etc in tub from supermarket add little hot water to the powder in cup/mug to create paste then use a milk pod, you end up with a milky tasty drink with a nice froth on top, best of all works out much cheaper specially if you have a family who enjoy a hot drink at night, the branded dolce gusto pods can be expensive when using daily, specially if you have a large family, hence me purchasing these milk pods as i do like a horlicks/hot chocolate at night. If you find you're drink to watery/not milky enough use two pods.Positives:- Healthier unsweetened skimmed milk- Leaves a nice froth on top- Creamy texture to milk which i did not expect from skimmed milk which is great, box says each pod should make 200ml of milk, which is about rite, depending on you're mug/cup size and how milky you like you're drink.- No nasty taste or after taste as one/two other reviewers have mentioned, i find these taste fine just like milk.- Comes in a box with a flap so you can keep them in the box and pull flap and pop a milk pod out as and when needed, which i much prefer over a bag.- Long shelf life, expiry date shows as 30/11/2020, was concerned they may have had a short shelf life as in being stored for months in warehouse, but 14 months remaining on mine which is great although i will use them up well before the expiry date.Negatives:- When you pull pod out after use it drips quite a bit from bottom of pod something i don't experience with the branded dolce gusto pods, however not really a problem just use a spoon/kitchen towel/teabag dish.Below i have provided the nutrition information as provided on the box i received.1 pod = 15 grams--------------------------------------Nutrition Information - Per 100g--------------------------------------Energy 250 kcalFat 0.8gof which Saturates 0.4gCarbohydrate 52gof which Sugars 52gProtein 35gSalt 0.55g--------------------------------------------------Ingredients: Skimmed Milk Powder (100%)--------------------------------------------------Overall i am very happy with the DonMatteo 50 Milk Latte Dolce Gusto Compatible Coffee Capsules and highly recommend them for all the reasons mentioned above in my review. These are powdered skimmed milk pods, so are never going to have the flavour of fresh milk, but they are very good for occasions when you don't have access to fresh milk. I currently have a house with no fridge and use my Dolce Gusto machine for coffee or mocha. These milk pods froth well and taste good. The powder does not all dissolve even when I give the pod a good shake before using, but the milk that does dissolve is enough to complement the mocha pod. Good value and will purchase again.

I struggle to find compatible pods that do not taste sweet but thought I would give this one a go as my usual go to has risen in price massively. This is now my fave.... Super frothy and creamy, even in skimmed version! So far the pods haven't leaked or splattered when I've used them as this is a problem I had with another brand. This works well with my choices of instant coffee too. Packaging is minimal too and the box that the pods are delivered in is compact and without additional plastic bags inside so just the plastic pods to recycle. The water drains fast from these pods after use so no need to wait ages to empty before recycling. I will be sticking with this brand now!

Purchased to use in my Dolce machine, to make hot chocolate and add to coffee (fresh milk upsets my stomach). These little pods are so creamy and create lovely hot chocolate and Coffee. Have brought multiple boxes.They are definitely value for money and I would recommend
