Great Mini Drone for Beginners with Impressive Features!
As a beginner, I was looking for an entry-level drone to get a feel for flying, and the SIMREX X800 turned out to be the perfect choice. It offers all the essential features I was hoping for, without being overly complicated. It took a bit of practice to get used to the controls, but overall, it's very easy to fly—and a lot of fun. The 1080P camera with an adjustable lens captures surprisingly clear photos and videos. One standout feature is the optical flow positioning, which helps the drone hover steadily and makes it much easier to capture smooth, stable shots.I've had a few rough crashes—into trees and onto grass—but despite its lightweight build, the X800 has proven to be impressively durable. It’s held up well and continues to perform smoothly, which is great for learning. The emergency stop function is another useful feature while you're still getting the hang of things. It comes with two modular batteries, providing up to 40 minutes of flight time, which is more than enough for my needs. I also appreciate thoughtful safety features like low power alerts and out-of-range protection, which offer extra peace of mind during flights. All in all, the SIMREX X800 is a fantastic entry-level drone that delivers great value. It's compact, sturdy, beginner-friendly, and loaded with useful features. If you're just getting into drones and don’t want to spend a fortune, this one is a great way to start. Highly recommended!

Met all my needs
I'm giving this 5 stars since it met my current needs. I purchased this because I wanted a easy way to inspect my gutters without having to drag a ladder out. the total linear feet of gutters I was able to inspect was just over 300 feet on one charge. This is a lightweight drone so even the slightest breeze outside will make it more challenging to control. The instructions that came with the drone could use a little more work. I ended up finding a video on youtube that provided better clarity on how to use this drone since its my first one. The box was missing one of the blade guards, but that didn't prevent me from using the drone for its intended purpose. The recorded video and pictures I took came out ok as well. For a first timer, and the cost, it was well worth it.

Very rich feature set from a non-toy starter drone!
The Simrex X800 drone is an impressive device that delivers far more than its price tag suggests. While marketed as a toy, its robust build quality and crash resistance set it apart as a serious beginner-friendly drone rather than a flimsy gadget. Its compact, foldable design makes it incredibly portable, and the 1080P adjustable camera captures crisp images whether you're flying indoors or outside in calm conditions. The RGB lighting ensures visibility even at night, making this an excellent choice for both casual users and those wanting to experiment with aerial photography. For beginners, the **altitude hold function** and optical flow position offer precise hovering and stability, making learning easy and frustration-free. Plus, the one-key start/landing removes the complexities of takeoff and touchdown, allowing first-time pilots to focus on enjoying the experience.Beyond basic functionality, the multifunctio features like 360° flips, gravity sensing, and path tracking provide layers of excitement, proving that this drone isn’t just practical but also fun to fly. While the dual 1000mAh batteries provide up to 22 minutes of flight time, an additional battery or a more versatile charging solution—such as compatibility with a USB power bank or 12V cigarette lighter connector—would have been a welcome inclusion.Verdic:For its build quality, rich feature set, and beginner-friendly control*, the **Simrex X800** punches far above its weight class. Despite minor battery limitations, it's an outstanding value, proving that affordability and solid performance can go hand in hand.

Smiles from all the kids!
This review is based on the sale price. Please do not compare it to a $2k pro rig.Out of the box we had to top off the batteries which is expected. Pairing was straight forward but this one didn't respond to the take off commands at first. These little overgrown honey bees all have slight variations on take off/landing commands. The instructions were pretty clear but after a few tries and restarts it responded fine.Flying inside is fine but outside it will struggle in the wind. It does a really good job of stabilizing itself though. There's always a little drift but it's still manageable. I even ran it into a few small tree branches to see how well it would correct and I'm very surprised. It will keep itself in the air just fine accept when it finds a wall or curtain. The camera feature works but again do not compare it to a pro rig.It made the kids smile and since there's 2 batteries you can be sure they are bored of playing with it before the batteries die.The flip/roll function is funny. It's a pre programed maneuver. That being the case I would not recommend doing it inside. I come from the build it and race it yourself background and tight flips and rolls are easy but this is different. It's fun but just be warned.I can not report on it's range as it's almost always windy here and I don't have a way to track this little thing if it were to get away. I can say that it will do 100 years pretty easy with a direct line of site. I'm in a ver rural area and don't have to compete with radio interference. Fly safe!
