The complete package!
I don't know why I love flashlights so much, but I do. Especially ones with great flood or great throw... this one has both, and in a very solid and compact package! The SK-05 Pro comes in a very nice package with the flashlight, charging cable, instructions, and belt clip. Taking the 05 out of the box you're immediately impressed with it's weight in a good way. The whole feel of this unit speaks to excellent build quality! And even though it's got some heft it feels comfortable and natural in the hand due to rectangle design along with finger groves on one side for your fingers. This places the rotary dial at your thumb position for easy access to all features without moving your hand. Very well thought out!I had to wait until nighttime to test it out which have me time to fully charge it before first use. This brings me to the side colored LED light. The side light is actually multi function and not just a gimmick, although it is pretty cool to run through it's different light modes with a friend! During charging the light changes color and length dependent on how charged the flashlight is. During charges it continues to pulsate to show progress but you can turn this off if it bothers you. The side lights many modes offer some which are practical such as a variable white light to replicate moonlight, an SOS mode, flashing warning modes of various colors and pulsating modes which are just kinda cool to look at.Once charged I took this baby out to my back yard which sits on a hill and a large field below. The flood light on high and on turbo lite that field up with the best of my previous floodlights. Wide and bright. The spotlight is even more wow! It's a tight well defined bean that in turbo appears to reach the claims made in the website. I don't have a way to measure it exactly but trust me, it's very impressive!Having all of these features placed together in one compact package with an easy to use interface makes this easily my favorite light and certainly worth the price!Get it! You won't be sorry!

Underrated
My favorite flashlight so far.I'm going to start with the cons. You need to memorize A LOT if you want to use this to it's full potential. This thing is hefty, but that should be obvious right off the bat. It feels like it's really well built and all but I can't help but be scared that I might end up damaging it eventually if I drop it considering it's only rated for a 1 meter fall. The knob also feels a little too light and scratchy for my liking, like if it were the only cheap part on there. It's only been a couple of days and I finally encountered that issue that other people seem to have been having where it just doesn't want to charge, BUT my solution seemed to be that I can simply open up the bottom and slide out the batteries and then put them back in and then it'll just start charging like normal. Haven't had to do it again for now. Pretty weird. I can live with it.My main light before this was my EDC29. I got it mainly for the sidelights and the replaceable batteries but it feels like everyone is underselling just how good the actual flashlight aspects function. This thing can get BRIGHT. I never knew just how nice it would be to actually have seperate spotlight/flood modes until now, and not only do they look really cool design-wise but they're both surprisingly powerful in their own ways. Combined? This thing is somehow almost going hand-in-hand with my 6500LM EDC29! In fact, the spotlight beam on full turbo is actually outdoing the 29 due to that concentrated beam! And it looks beautiful how you can see the clear, circular outline. It's insane. Then there's all the other cool stuff like being able to change the sidelights colors, brightnesses and patterns, and not to mention the reversible clip and the magnetic base. If this were rated on a 100 point scale I would have easily given this a 97/100. Points deducted for the more fragile feeling aspects of it but I'm in love with everything else.Edit* I'm coming back to edit this now that I have a little more experience with the light. Still by far one of my favorite lights, and I currently use the sidelights on my crossbody while I'm working. Yellow droplets for maintenance and pulsing dark blue for security. This light is amazing but it's main problem is the rotary knob. It moves very easily, which means that even if you lock it, it can get unlocked with the slightest movement. If you have the clip with the open part facing the lights like I do, when you clip it on your bag there's always going to be a chance that you'll momentarily blind yourself if you're not careful. Especially when you can't feel what mode it's on without looking. The lack of tactile touch doesn't really help the problem. It would even be helpful if it were just a little harder to rotate. The other day I dropped the light by accident and the button came out but I plopped it right in and it's still working just fine. Makes me think that the actual button and knob were made as an afterthought. Everything else? Fantastic. Love it. Can't wait to see what else they'll release.

An awesome, unique flashlight that you definitely want even if you don't really need!
Awesome, just awesome! Love it. I like the unique format, the style and the heft of it. The dial is easy to use and understand to get whatever light output you want. Like another reviewer, I too have the Nitecore EDC29, which I also love. With both lights on Turbo mode, the EDC29 is a bit brighter. This light is great though and fun to carry and use. The sidelight is actually somewhat complicated to learn all the different modes, and it is almost a bit more than needed, but kinda fun and cool all the same. Amazon had this on a deal for $100 so at that price it was a no-brainer. Very happy with the purchase.EDIT: Noticed another user posted that the light became unlocked and accidentally activated in his pocket. Maybe his version was different than mine, but it has a lock setting on the dial and also auto-locks after 60 seconds. If it auto-locks you have to manually turn the knob to the lock position, then back to one of the operating modes, THEN you turn it on by pressing the button. I like the locking feature better than some other lights, it is easy and intuitive. Honestly I don't know how someone could have the light accidentally turn on, maybe his version was different than mine, fwiw.
