Sanus Vmpl50A-B1 mount installation with Sharp 70-inch Aquos TV
Bottom line, this is an EXCELLENT, adjustable TV mount product with high quality manufacturing. I was impressed by its capability, workmanship and it earned a solid five stars.TV Buyers Beware!!! If you're in the market for a giant TV beware of this problem: Regardless of manufacturer, the mount adjustment wrench length has not kept up with the width of giant TVs! This bummer factor means you can't make adjustments once the TV is mounted on the wall because the wrench doesn't have the required length to reach the adjustment screws deep behind the TV!Here's my review based on my installation: For wall mounted TVs, you got to have the right mount and this is one of the best. I used this mount for a SHARP 70-inch Aquos TV which weights in at 100 lbs. The reason for the gigantic TV size was to cover the old CRT TV hole above the fireplace. Actually, the old TV cavity above the fireplace was a godsend for two reasons. One, I was able to create my own 2x4 frame to the house structure inside the cavity then bolt the base of the TV mount to the 2x4s. No question about holding power of the mount. Second, since the TV cavity had a rear access panel, I was able to reach behind the TV once mounted and secure the mount tilt adjustment which would not have been possible otherwise. The adjustment wrench supplied was too short to reach the adjustment screws! This would be a serious bummer for a mount on a solid wall. Back to the installation, with the help of another person, we picked the TV up and placed it on wall mount and heard/felt the solid click of the TV mount bracket locking with the wall mount. No question the mount had the TV. The adjustment of the mount was fantastic. Under direction of wife, I was able to slide the TV left or right until it was exactly centered horizontally in her mind. Then I was able to give it a slight tilt downward. This would have been an easy step if the wrench had enough length. Like it was, I had to use my helper to hold the TV tilt in place while I went around to the back and tighten the tilt adjustment by reaching through the old TV cavity. We are very happy with our mount choice and installation experience.

Really Glad I went with this Sanus Mount!
Awesome. I chose this product over an even cheaper alternative. While all had great reviews. I don't know something about the fact that this Sanus weighed 10lbs and the other cheaper ones weight 4-5 lbs. And all to keep my really heavy LCD up on a wall. The Sanus just looked more straight forward. And it is! It comes in 3 pieces and has a great weight and feel to it. It's pretty straight forward really. All you gotta do is find those studs. I would say my biggest advice if you are new to mounting like me, measure, measure, and remeasure. Make sure everything is aligned how you want it. Check you levels and follow the instructions. It really is a nice mount and I notice you get about 2 inches of clearance which is AWESOME because the plug on the back of my tv goes straight out and I need as much clearance as I can get. which the 2" seems to be about perfect. The TV looks great and slick on my wall now and the mount is holding it perfectly. Also the fact that this system has a pro level feature where you can adjust the screws on the top to re level out the tv is great! Great product and I'm glad I spent a little extra on this because there is less assembly and it is more solid.

Good Mount but needed to buy extra tools
I used this for my 70" Sharp LED. As far as tilting mounts go that will handle a 70" TV, this one mounts the TV closer to the wall than any other mount I could find which is one of the main reasons I chose it. Its a good mount overall. The ability to adjust the height so that it is perfectly level is a very nice feature. It also seems well built and is easy to install. Like a few others mentioned, I spent an extra $2 to buy lag bolts from Home Depot just in case the provided bolts weren't strong enough. They seemed fine to me even though I didn't use them. What I did not like about this mount is that in order to adjust the height, and more importantly tighten the bracket so that it maintains a fixed tilt angle, I had to purchase a 20" long 3/8" extender for my socket wrench along with a hex socket to which I added another 4" extender I already owned. The extender and socket cost me $20, so even though I got this for a good price from Amazon, it wasn't so good after considering the additional expense. The mount does come with a long allen wrench which was not nearly long enough for my TV, but perhaps it would be long enough for a 50" or smaller TV.Overall I recommend it but beware that you will need to buy extra tools if you have a large TV.

Well made! Plus Amazon's nice price!
Sanus makes a wide variety of great mounts for flat screen TVs. I have used this same mount on 2 TVs. It is easy to install and it comes with all the necessary hardware. Once the wall and TV brackets are mounted just lift he TV up over the Hooks on the wall bracket and snap it in place. Just make sure the wall brackets are level. I would recommend mounting the wall bracket using the lag bolts screwed directly into the wall studs, This provides the most stable foundation and the bracket still has plenty of side to side adjustment (insofar as mounting holes are concerned) to get your TV centered where you want it on the wall. Total Install time from start to finish should be 30-60 minutes. This is the mount recommended in-store at Best Buy for 2.5 times more than Amazon's price.
