I have a hoop by my driveway and it has been taking in water from the sprinklers. Would this fit around a square 4" pole and keep out water?

It would help but I'm not sure it would keep it totally out.

I currently have a pole and base pad, it’s been through 3 teenage boys in 6 years. Needs replaced., does it require me to tack the backboard off?
