Great - even better with a silicone pad on the magnet surface..
Another brand of magnet I use came with a thin layer of silicone or 'rubber' sheet glued to the magnet surface. This increases the hold/anti-slip performance on vertical surfaces. These did not come with a rubber layer on the magnet surface but it's easily added. Anti-slip silicone sheet with a thickness of 1/64" or thinner and silicone that has some 'tack'. Raw silicone sheet can be purchased from Amazon. I've also used a dashboard anti-slip pad from Handstands. It works noticeably better than silicone sheet I've tried but it tears more easily. For this magnet, cut a 1.5" circle, apply to the magnet surface with or without adhesive and you're done. Once attached, these go from very strong and high performing magnets to very strong and insanely slip resistant magnets. So much so that on a high iron content steel surface, I had concern that I'd damage or break the magnets due to the force I had to apply to remove them. I wasn't able to slide them off the surface to break them free. I was able to pull them off finally but not without some long lasting soreness later in my forefinger knuckle joint. Probably best to use large pliers to grab the carabiner and then slide or pull it off.On horizontal surfaces, there's little benefit from using silicone pads aside from providing some scratch resistance for the magnet surface and the surface it's being applied to. On horizontal surfaces, there's probably a bit less hold with pads but barely worth mentioning with magnets of this strength.I haven't had these long enough to comment on durability and rust resistance but the workmanship and materials are superficially impressive. The magnet housing appears to be stainless steel but the advertising says it's plated. I think the original advertising said it was stainless - not sure.I don't know if the 140lb claim is accurate. Advertised magnet strength is almost always unsubstantiated for inexpensive consumer level magnets and probably exaggerated by some unethical suppliers. I have no reason to believe this supplier is anything but above board but personally, 140lb's seems like a stretch especially in the real world where conditions will vary. I'd estimate that I used at least 50lb's of force when removing the one I described above.Bottom line, I probably wouldn't use these as fishing magnets or otherwise outside in an unprotected environment. Based on other customer reviews, they don't appear to be rust resistant. In an inside environment, they have aged well and are more than suited for hanging things like daypacks, heavy coats and other somewhat heavy objects. Good product, happy customer.

Super strong magnets. Tons of uses. Love them!
I love these magnets. The magnets have a small, sturdy rotating ring on them that works perfectly as an anchor for nylon ties. Normally that ring has a carbiner looped through it. The magnets also included large keyrings which could be used in combination with the carbiners (or to replace them.) Plus, there are stickers to put on the magnetic side so it doesn't scratch the finish of painted steel. These extras make these magnets one of the most flexible ways to attach a wide variety of things to any ferrous metal, like steel. Another place I'm using them is in the workshop. I can attach tools, fixtures, jigs, extra extension cords, and documentation to each shop tool. I also have steel storage shelves suspended from my ceiling. With these magnets, I can hang things from the underside of those shelves. Most recently, I used them to hold the wiring harness for the lights on a painted steel trailer. There is no way these will vibrate loose while driving down the road. They are stuck to that frame as if they were bolted on. When I got my first batch of these magnets, I tested them by hooking my gigantic fully-filled 64-ounce stainless steel water bottle to the carbiner and sticking the magnet to the underside of a steel table. The magnet held the bottle more securely than I hold it. I was amazed. Most of the other magnets I've purchased seemed wildly over-rated on holding power. These seem a lot more powerful than those other magnets. Are they 140 lb.? I don't know. Perhaps they are, but only in laboratory conditions while attached to pure iron. In the real world, these would more likely support around 50 lbs. when placed on steel. The others I've bought in the past were lucky to support maybe 10% of their rated holding strength on a good day. I only order magnets from Ant Mag now, because the magnets seem to be higher quality and more powerful than what other vendors are selling. Plus, I get them very quickly. In the past few months, I've placed several orders for multiple boxes of these and all of them have been excellent. I seem to discover new uses for these magnets every few days. Highly recommended!

Very strong
Very strong magnets, I used them to cover up my work van with tarps down here in Florida. They held through some of the strongest storms that we had past two weeks.

They are ok but
No doubt as others have said they are very strong magnets. But if you use them on a vertical surface as I do and hang anything more than a few pounds, they slide right down making them basically useless.EDIT: somehow they have stopped sliding and are working well. They come with no instructions yet have extra rings and sticky disks. Perhaps those are to be glued on surface? Defeats purpose. Also, small carabiners are low quality and stick upon trying to open.

Very Strong
These are great. I use them to secure orange mesh flags on oversize loads, and oversize load signs on trucks/ Trailers.. Very strong sometimes too strong. they are not easy to pull off so sometime they have to be slid to the side to pull off.they will scratch paint.the clip they come with are useful and versatile.

I’m going to buy these again!
Works like a champ in the garage. You can hang anything on them. A real must have item for the gentlemen who spend their time working on things.

Strong enough.
Strong enough to pick up dropped items and strong enough to hang on a refridgerator to hold moderately heavy tools. But not so strong as you cant remove them. I have one on the side of my fridge holding a flashlight.
