It’s a great tool to make coffee
I don’t usually write reviews but since this is my second Technivorm Grande purchase I may be able to offer some insight about this machine. We purchased our first Grande 6 years ago. The machine worked great but we had to replace b/c the switches on the front broke. That’s my only complaint. Our new machine has arrived and it seems as though the switches have been updated. Fingers crossed we don’t have anymore issues with switches breaking. What I love about this machine...It’s simple, easy to clean and heats the water to the correct temperature.Things to know...This machine will only work well if you follow the guidelines, if you’re willing to change your coffee brand and you experiment. Think of this coffeemaker like an All-Clad pan. The pan doesn’t magically produce a delicious dinner it’s just a tool with precision that depends on quality ingredients and a chef with some knowhow. This is a coffeemaker for people who love coffee and are willing to be a chef about it...1. You have a coffee maker that heats the water to the correct temperature and sprays/soaks the coffee correctly using filtered water and the right paper filters.2. You buy good quality coffee and are willing to experiment with different brands and ratios until you’re happy. They advise 2 tablespoons per cup and if the coffee is too strong to add water to your cup like an Americano. For reference, we buy Allegro Organic French Roast, Groundworks Big Easy or local artisanal roasters and have had good results. But we don’t follow 2 tablespoons per cup... more like 1 to 1/2 Tablespoons per cup depending on the type of coffee and the grind.3. You clean and descale the machine regularly. As far as the lack of cups written on the side of the pot or water well, it’s not an issue b/c you’ll soon realize it’s simple math. Start with their recommendation and adjust to your taste. It took us a few weeks until we got a ratio we liked. Also, I would not recommend using the coffee pot to fill water. I use a clean glass. Coffee pots retain coffee residue that can gunk up the machine. It’s a 10 cup (6oz per cup) machine so not as big as American machines. Overall, we like this machine. If you’re willing to experiment and use good quality coffee, I recommend it. Hopefully, the new one lasts longer than 6 years.

I just love this coffee brewer
I just love this coffee brewer! Since we received it a few weeks ago, we've tried several coffee varieties (from cheap supermarket ground coffee to $35 per pound freshly ground beans) and the end result is always piping hot and flavorful in a good way, far superior to our previous mass-produced $50 coffee maker. I bought a huge supply of some Bunn commercial 10-12 cup white filters, which fit perfectly. This particular size/model was ideal for our household as the batches are larger than other models, and while the burner/glass carafe model can lessen the coffee quality if left in the pot for more than an hour, the fresh brew flavor is slightly superior to the thermal carafe version just after brewing, according to online reviews.Pros: As stated in another review, the coffee, when brewing, doesn't fill the house with aroma; the aroma stays in the pot, improving the flavor. The plastic carafe lid with the internal destratification tube is an ingenious design feature, forcing the brew to swirl around and mix in the pot while brewing and with each pour from the pot, once brewed. The carafe pour spout lip is well designed, eliminating messy dribbling while pouring a cup. The individual pieces clean up easily. As stated by everyone else, the copper heating element and water dispersion method are the true stars of this brewer, resulting in the ideal brewing temperature and uniform ground steeping.Cons: The only thing that bugs me is that the attached power cord is very substantial in circumference, very long and very stiff, almost like a major appliance oven/washer/dryer cord. It is attached to the left side of the brewer, making the cord stick out and take up too much counter space. A revised design where the cord is located on the back of the brewer and possibly retractable would be a major improvement. The other slight issue is availability of a replacement carafe, as no North American suppliers currently have it in stock. I tried to place an order for one via the manufacturer's website, but the order page is broken, not accepting input of the state and postal code fields, making me unable to place an order. I tried with various web browsers, both with my PC and iPhone, so they need to fix the order page. I know that I'm clumsy and will probably drop the break the carafe one of these days, and I'd like to have a spare on hand.I still give the brewer 5 stars. It makes the best drip brewed coffee in the world, and with a slight design tweak (power cord), it would be absolutely flawless. Fix your website, TechniVorm!

Absolutely fantastic!
I purchased the 60 oz Moccamaster after weeks of reading reviews and watching videos and trying to convince myself this would be worth the money spent. I've been through 3 Cuisinart coffee makers in the past 4 years and even though my first Cuisinart lasted nearly 8 years, the last ones all had issues -- and the coffee wasn't that great or hot. I had very high expectations for this and it definitely lived up to them! Makes GREAT coffee and it is HOT coffee, too.I debated between the glass carafe and the thermal but I like to see the coffee in the pot so went with glass. I was concerned it would not fit underneath my cabinet (17" from counter to below cabinet) and fits beautifully. I pull it out to make coffee. As other reviewers have mentioned, the cord is a little overkill but it doesn't bother me at all. I keep the coffee maker in the corner by my fridge and having black granite counter tops helps to hide it. It would be nice if it wasn't so bulky. My last 2 coffee makers were "14 cups" Cusinart. This is 60 ounces. I filled this up, poured it into the Cuisinart carafe and it hit just under the 12 cup mark. So even though this is considered the large Moccamaster, to me, it's about a normal size. Ordered these filters and they are perfect. They don't collapse and they're not too low. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IYD1MII/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1This does have a few parts to fiddle with but it's easy. Plus cleaning is very easy. We use filtered water from the fridge. We LOVE the coffee! It's also pretty cool looking.
