Ordered this based on other reviews for use as grabber for branches, yard trash, etc. This think works GREAT! Highly recommend for picking up small branches provided they are not real heavy. Lightweight but sturdy construction and the 5' length gives you leverage to handle heavier loads than smaller grabbers might. Probably works great for grabbing snakes as well, but hopefully I won't have to test out that ability.

Update: if I could give 10 stars I would. Only had this 2 weeks and used it to grab and dispatch a copperhead that was engaging with my dogs. It’s very sturdy, easier to use and love the feature to lock the jaw once snake is caught. ******This grabber is a little pricier than others but it arrives ready to use and perfectly functional. I also bought a cheap version so I could have these at different locations on my farm. The cheap one required assembly and cable adjustment so I'll be returning it and ordering a 2nd one of these. In a moment of snake (copperhead) wrangling I want a tool that works with no adjustment required!

Got to use this for the first time the other day! It was so easy to use and finally allows me to transport snakes to a different location without having to kill the good ones. Quality is great, very sturdy, and I have no fear that the snake will get lose while transporting.

I loved mine and it handled removing at least 12 4' snakes and I've had it almost 3 years but my lock fell off on the last catch. I'm buying another exactly the same because of the light weight. I'm a 110 lb 76 yr old woman. Two, one one each end of my home will comfort me. Great performance. Only 4 stars because the latch on my 1st failed (disappeared).

Excellent tool. Not only works excellent for snakes, but also excellent for grabbing other things that’s out of reach. It’s well built and worth every penny. The only issue I have is that the handle lock is worthless. I would never depend the handle lock. Your better off squeezing the handle manually because you can feel the pressure of what your grabbing much better. I never use the handle lock.

Good stuff, easy to use. Quality seems as good as you would hope for.

After I bought this I was thinking maybe I would never use it and I wasted my money. I have only had this for a couple of weeks and have already used it. The dogs found a baby rattler in the yard yesterday. I got the dogs in the house, grabbed this and clamped it on the snake. The snake wasn’t going anywhere after that. I went inside to get the appropriate tool to dispatch the snake. In less than 60 seconds he was gone. I didn’t have to worry about where he went while I went back inside. I didn’t have to worry about how I was going to dispatch a small rattler because he was hiding in an inconvenient spot. Love this thing. If you have snakes, you need one.

Snakes don't bother me. Poison ivy does. Especially when it grows up into my siding and windows. Worse yet is I couldn't get a ladder up to the house to get hold of the vines. I hit the noxious ivy with Round Up and waited for a few days. When it was all brown and crispy, I used these sturdy and strong grippers to yank it all off the house. The jaws even maneuvered in on a windows frame for the largest, thickest vine. I had to really pull, but the jaws held tight and the vine came down. These are awesome!Probably good for snakes too. But I am psyched about the ivy.Came fully assembled. Great value for the money. Would definitely recommend.
