Heavy & solid
Bought on off chance it would work with metal card press dies as only £67 when on offer. Arrived next day ready assembled. All metal construction (whereas card die press machines typically plastic rollers and just as expensive). However wasn't suitable as pressure applied over large area so unable to generate enough force to perforate paper. That said I can see press being useful by others for intended purpose of book binding (or flower pressing) etc. so am happy to keep and recommend.

Printing press
Perfectly suitable as a printing press for relief prints, especially wood engravings. The price around £100 compares favourably with the considerably higher prices offered by the established printmaking suppliers.

Basic press heavy and does the job
The finish is utilitarian but it presses ok so it does its job and considering the price of forged or cast vintage presses it a good buy.

Not pretty, but pretty impressive
Hugely heavy, but then that’s good. Maybe not for the delivery driver for me it’s just what I want to flatten Prince

Not as pretty as a classic nipping press but does the job well
As a hobbyist book binder I had been looking for one of the fancy cast iron nipping presses but the prices are either too high, delivery exorbitant or pick up hundred of miles away. This is a neat little press and handles everything I need. Superb bit of kit.

Very badly assembled
The Allen screws in 6 instance were damaged through over tightening. I assume the suppliers used an electric screwdriver and didn't bother to set the torque or it was an overzealous gorilla assembling. In order to remedy the problem I re-tapped the holes to 5mm and replaced the screws with stainless steel. After 2 hours I ended up with a reasonable product and sheer frustration how incompetently it was originally in on receipt.I strongly suggest that the bolts that secure the metal top are replaced with longer ones and have locknuts fitted within the U channel

Works well but!
I was really looking forward to getting the book press, but a bit disappointed when I opened the package as the bottom base plate paint was chipped along the front edge. As it didn’t affect the overall working of the press, I kept it. But I think that as this was a pricey purchase, it should have been properly vetted before sending it out.
